Hunting dog names

That's easy

Take the dog hunting. Something will happen that first time that will give you a "natural" for your dogs name.
I call mine "MISSEDIT"

My Shorthair's name is Buddy as he's the best huntin' buddy I could ask for. This is his first time in the field after hunting school. He did very good, I was so proud.

I love GSPs. Thanks for the pict.
So do I. Here's another.

Thanks guy's, I am glad to see all the names you gave me. It has helped alot.
This is my first hunting dog. I am tired of my brothers lab named Tracker getting all my birds and bringing them back to him. He will be ready for next season. Someone told me a name, Cooper. It sounds good, but i'm not sure yet. I cant decide. If I think this is hard, when i have kids i dont what i'm going to do. But Thanks everyone. I figure i can wait a couple more days.

WIN71, I know they are supposed to have deep chests, but "Another" must be on steroids.

My FIL's GSP's name is Newt (from Lonesome Dove).

Gus would be a good name.

As a kid I had Tara, Scarlet and Ittybitty. All Dachshunds and totally suitable for a small kid with a .22. At this time we also had 27 dogs to choose from.

Later I got Herman from the pound, a wirehaired something-or-other with a nose only beat by Zach.

Lucifer was an Afghan that I trained much to my wifes chagrin (the breed was intended to hunt lions). Smart dog, would do almost anything that Herman would do.

Zachariah, Gordon Setter, BEST DOG EVER! Smart and did everything to perfection.

Outside of hunting, Cha-cha, Che, Jimi and Abby, all German Shepard's holding down the fort and protecting kids. All did a fine job.

We voted - one vote per pound and I have 249 of them -

Guys, nice GSP's. I love GSP's. Maybe we need a GSP thread. Ya, I know it's not gun related........but maybe if the dog pics had a gun in them......

The length of this thread says there's a lot of dog lovers out there. It might be what finally gets me to learn how to post a photo. btw I think Carl is great. jd
