How do you guys stop buying guns?

I have found that it was easy to stop buying guns whenever I ran out of money.

A full safe is a good indicator that you need to stop, if you have no intentions, or room, to buy another.

I am the weapon; my gun is a tool. It's regrettable that with some people those descriptors are reversed.
I'd just buy another safe.

When you get old. About two years back I had 3 (Yes, three) good sized gun auctions. I had the closets full, some in cabinets, under the bed, wall to wall racks in the basement. I even forgot some of the guns I had until we started doing the paperwork. I did OK, because I bought most when guns were cheap. When you get old and want to move into a smaller place, that is when you stop buying guns. I kept a few to work on and my hunters. I have not bought one since.

Why, I just waited until I had enough..................Now I buy for my wife, When she has enough, I'll start buying for my Son-In-Law. See how this works? No guilt but I'm still bringing guns home................hehehe

For some reason, I still get a thrill every time I bring home a new gun.

This weekend, I bought pair of shoes. I wasn't all that excited when I took it home.

I also bought my girlfriend a purse. That wasn't very fun.

I managed to buy a bottle of rare bourbon. That was not very exciting; delicious, but not exciting.

About a month ago, I bought a new car. It's nice and smells all leathery and it talks to me, but it's not very fun.

I just bought 11 new suits. They look like all the suits I wore last year and just donated to goodwill. None of my employees even know I'm wearing new suits.

I bought a new computer for my house. It does the same thing as the last computer.

This new gun in my hand...that's awesome, fun, and exciting.

My girlfriend does point out that it looks like all the other guns I own. So I buy her a new pair of shoes, and she gets all excited. But I swear they look exactly the same as her other shoes.

I only buy stuff I'm interested in. If there isn't anything new offered I'm interested in I do not buy anything.
Most of the guns I have an eye for I have. ;)

Well, I can't say that works all the time. I haven't "stopped" but I've cut way back. At one time I had a safe full of handguns in particular. I honestly didn't know how many I had. Then one day I realized that. "I don't know how many guns I have." I had guns I'd never fired, and had never thought about firing.

So I sold off most of them. I kept a few that I really like and use. Now when I see something I want, I either trade or sell one I've got and get the next one. I've actually reduced the number I kept down a few more. But they're ones I use. At least once in a while.

Bingo. If I don't shoot it or carry it, I don't need it.
I'd rather put my time and effort into reloading components, and actually shoot some more.

It ain't the guns, but all of the "accoutrements" that cost, plus the value of guns kept in decent shape increase through the years better than most investments.
