Help a skinny guy out

Sounds like it's time for a pocket auto, then.

IWB does require some concessions in your wardrobe.

I had a coworker that carried every day, and his two weapons of choice were a Kahr PM9 and a Walther PPK. He doesn't carry them both at once... just one or the other, in his front pocket of his Dockers.

To all, including Wrothgar

I buy "Hawiian-style shirts at Wal-Mart in spring / summer. These shirts are NOT BRIGHT AND FLOWERED. They have prints that are hardly noticeable. I get them a little bigger than I normally wear. I do the same with lightweight linen sportcoats for hot weather. I can wear some of these sportcoats with bluejeans (casual), or with a tie. Make sure you buy darker colors or plaids, so colour doesn't show through light colours (ie:whites).
I'm a SHORT and Slim guy, and I carry a Kahr P-45 or a Glock 27, or a Springfield XD-45, etc without too much trouble.
Try a CrossBreed Supertuck, with the forward cant as far forward as possible, mounted somewhere between 3:00 and 3:30 on the hip. The grip will be up toward your armpit so that it won't stick out behind you. The flat of the leather protects your butt cheeks from abrasions. The holster is tuckable for times when untucked shirt is unacceptable, and the grip STILL doesn't stick out behind you. Crossbreed now offers a very sturdy metal belt clip. Also, Crossbreed puts the holes for mounting the clips on the leather instead of on the clips. This protects you from abrasions caused buy other makers clips that ride lower that the leather part of the holster.
Hope this helps a little.

AZRED: XD vs Kahr vs 1911, etc

I prefer the Kahr- fewer issues than I had with 1911 guns. It's just as slim as / slimmer than a 1911, no over-exposed manual controls/hammer, and smoother finish bevels than lower-end guns. I use a Kel-Tec P-11 and/or a Ruger LCP for my BUG (Back Up Gun).
I have TONS of holsters that didn't work for me- two 18-gallon Rubbermaid Rough Totes, if anyone wants to ask about them.
For we slimmer framed people, or vertically challenged (short) people, paddle holsters will not likely work.
