Guns You'd Like To See Produced.

Seeing the exorbitant prices for colt revolvers-if we have to pay a lot of money for them anyway-I'd like to see colt go back to producing the top quality, hand fitted revolvers they were known for. Oh Yeah! With the ammo market what it is-Revive the MEDUSA.

I'd like to see the Savage 99 come back out, old-school style, nothing new and "improved."

A Browning BL-22WMR.

x2 on the stainless 357 mag rifle with 18" barrel. Or maybe a stainless 92 Ranger with the shorter barrel - 16, 16.25, whatever it was.

Definitely a more practical 357 auto.

One of those four shot derringers that shot all four barrels at once. Why, just for the pure joy of the kaboom!

I'd like to see someone bring out a revolver carbine that is a little more affordable and modern than the Uberti's. Something with a 14 or 16" barrel maybe, and with a longer Monte Carlo stock to keep the flash from my face a little.

In response to the prior post about the 22lr tommy gun, I think there is one being made already.

I'd like to see more companies play with something like the calico's.

More calibers in the BFR - maybe 308, 243, 25-06, 300 savage, a true rifle cartridge between the 30-30 and the 450Marlin and 45-70, and with longer range.

Hmm, I will probably think of more, but those would get me started toward bankruptcy.:D

I'd like to see Ruger's impression of a proper lever action .30-30 and .45-70. It must be that Ruger's makes and sells what they think people will buy and then that's it.

I'd like to see a Colt automatic in 9mm but in a smaller size than a 1911 (but a little larger than the old pocket auto, maybe about the size of the FN 9mm Browning Long hammerless, which I think was also a model 1903. Colt supposedly made a few experimental models of such a gun but was unable to sell any. And they would probably have trouble selling them now. I believe it was chambered in some .38 caliber proprietary cartridge.

And while we're at it, I'd like to see more revolvers with a five inch barrel. S&W actually made some J-frames with a 5 inch heavy barrel in .357 magnum, no less. I almost bought one but that's when I bought the P5.

Not that I could afford any of these.

I know someone made something in 30 carbine years ago but I have never seen one or found anyone that has it.
AMT made one, Automag III.
A photographer I ain't lol

Ooooh! Ooooh! A wish list! OK, Santa, I want:
A Colt New Service revolver in 45 Colt (the Redhawk is nice, but it's not the same)
A Colt Diamondback in stainless chambered for 32 H&R, 38 Special, and/or a rimmed 40 S&W
A Colt Government Model stainless Series 70 pistol
A stainless Browning Hi Power
A Ruger Redhawk in 357/44 Bains-Davis

And in long guns (what? You thought I was done?):
A new production prewar-style Winchester 1894
A stainless Browning A5 (made in Belgium, if you would, please)
A Ruger 77 bolt action rifle in 458 SOCOM

1. A reintroduction of the Colt CCO (1911 Commander Slide, LW officers' frame)

2. Agree with others in a Glock chambered in 7.62 Tokarev.

3. A 5" slide polymer framed, striker fired with corresponding low bore axis, high capacity, single action auto with manual safety, a crisp straight pull trigger with very short reset, and standard 1911 grip angle. This would absolutely dominate the world of competitive shooting if someone has the guts to make it!

It is interesting the responses to this thread. A couple of people mention the .32 H&R Magnum and a couple more the .30 Tokarev. Most just want something that was made decades ago and I wouldn't mind having most of them myself. I've already had so many that it's hard to think of something else.

I think I would also like to see an automatic that was thinner than the current crop. They're all a little thick in the slide and tend to be a little thick in the grip, too. Of course, the 1911 pretty much fits that mold already. Colt and their imitators have already produced about every possible variation but how about an full size 1911 with an alloy frame? Or has that been done?

How about a Ruger automatic like the .22 chambered in something a little more powerful like I don't know what. The Ruger .22 automatic is suspiciously like the 8mm Nambu. How about in .32 ACP? Or .380? In any color they'd care to make it in. Blue, stainless, green, brown, whatever.

I'd like to see a semi-auto carbine rifle in 7.62x25Tok.

I do believe I have seen a stainless CZ-40 at my local Cabela's (Gonzales, LA).

+1 to the C96, P08 and original 1911A1. I had one of the auto ordinance 1911's but thought it was a little junky. Also, +1 to the S&W without locks.

As far as long guns, the Savage 99 would be cool along with the Remington model 8's and Winchester 1895's (without the tang safety).

For me it boils down to old guns that have gotten crazy expensive and/or not up to handling modern loads.

How about a good break-top revolver? Oh, I know, the S&W repro break-top big bores came back and I couldn't buy one of them but how about something else?

Stainless Browning BAR MkII Safari in 25/06 with BOSS

Browning A-Bolt Target Series in 25/06 with BOSS

All-stainless steel receiver for the BLRs, not the alloy junk on there now...

Ruger should bring back the .44mag semi-auto carbine. I think it was the Deerfield?

A Glock/XD/M&P based 10mm carbine with high cap magazines. Basically a better option than the Beretta Px4 Storm Carbine or High Point. Preferably Glock, but only if they used standard rifling and fully supported chambers in the carbine barrels... I actually wish they'd do that with their handguns anyway...

An all-steel receiver GSG-5 with steel hardware, not that soft aluminum crap. Also, all steel or steel lined magazines for the GSG-5, not the plastic crap that they're using now.

Glocks with interchangeable grips.

Slimline versions of all Glock models. (10mm!!!)

Marlin lever action 12 gauge

.22 mag version 10/22

.22 mag version GSG-5

FNAR in 7mm-08 and .243

I'm sure I have others, but I can't think of any more right now...

A few off the top of my head:

Savage 99 in .300 Savage and/or .308 Win. Other chamberings would be nice, too. Make sure that it has the rotary mag with the round count indicator. I keep on hearing rumors of Savage bringing these back -- and I say "Bring Them On!"

Winchester 88 in .308 Win. Other chamberings would be nice. I know this will never happen, but it would be nice anyway.

Marlin 336 in 7-30 Waters. Or maybe .30-30 AI. I don't see them doing the AI thing since they brought out the .308MX, but it would still be nice to see them do the 7-30.

Somebody domestic who will make a decent home/homeland defense rifle -- one worth having -- in 5.56 or 7.62x39 (or similar) for a decent affordable price. Like, oh, say, $500 or less. Semi-auto would be nice but there are other options that will work as well. Decent capacity would be required. Reliability would be a necessity. 200 or so yards effective range with stock iron sights. Accuracy should be sub 2moa. We are close to this with a plain ol' Marlin 336 A or W in .30-30, but it would be nice to have a quicker reload option than stuffing individual rounds in through the side gate.

Oh, and what about the old Winchester Model 12? My father had one of those in 12 ga. Heavy as all get out, but man what a nice shotty!

An all-American made FNAR type in .243??? Or maybe 6.8SPC??? And it needs to use standard mags (AR15 or AR10 mags) instead of a unique, $130 magazine...

Something along those lines. But they'd have to keep the price tag down. I mean, it seems that everything that wears a FN name tag has a price tag to match.

I hate to say it, but what we need is a domestically produced analog of the SKS. Or maybe ramped up production of the old M-1 Carbine, maybe gussied up with a more modern round. Like a Mini-14 or Mini-30 but at a lower price point and with some of the warts removed.
