"Fun" Guns in Your Collection

My "FUN" guns are all long guns, and unfortunately all semi.
1918 A3 BAR
Catco Sten MKII
AutoOrdinance 1927A1 Thompson

The only handgun that I had that qualified was my Broomhandle because it was the only one I never carried. If I had had a CC holster for it I might have. I traded it for the BAR and a 50 round drum for the Thompson. I have concidered using the Thompson as a patrol rifle and if I do I guess it won't be a fun gun anymore.

uhhh... which one do you want to hear about? just got a new one that serves no real purpose other than to make me smile. it's not really a handgun, but everyone else is doin it.

They are all fun but these guns of mine from the early 70's still top my fun list. 100 F heat at 100 yards, 10 rounds fired from each and 10 rounds on paper from guns older than a lot of people on this board still tickle my giggle. I figure if I keep practicing I will get it right yet but these are my fun guns and go to guns for obvious reasons.

got this for a song on a trade! lotsa' blastin' fun and probably the cheapest CF handgun caliber to shoot these days.

I am glad to see that most people on here can admit to buying most of their guns for fun. For some reason, it seems many gun owners feel the need to "rationalize" buying a new gun. IMHO it is silly to SERIOUSLY try and convince yourself (and others) that you "need" to buy a gun for some outlandish scenario; rather than just say gun collecting/shooting is a hobby that I enjoy and simply want to own.

Mine.....

Ruger Standard (MK I).....I told myself I would carry it in the woods when I went deer hunting to pot a rabbit or squirrel with, but never have. I also said I would take it to the range everytime and use it half of the day so I could save some money on ammo.....I have done that twice.

Guns I have just for fun, lets see. My parents gave me a 5 1/2 inch barrel stainless Ruger Vaquero in 44 Mag as a Christmas present years ago. I was planning on using the Vaquero in Cowboy Action Shooting but the funds weren't there to finish the deal so its now a woods gun. In 2004 I bought a Beretta Cx4 Storm Carbine in 9mm. The Storm has become a companion/tactical weapon to my Beretta 92F pistol.

my new 6in barreled heritage rough rider is probably my fun gun right now, it might make me end up getting another SA revolver in a caliber with a little more kick :D

Probably the most fun is my copy of the "Indiana Jones Gun", a S&W 2nd Model Hand Ejector, converted from .455 to .45 Colt, with 4" barrel. It not only looks like one of the two prop guns from the first movie, but shoots as good as any new gun. The exterior is worn and dinged, making it easier to pack without worry, and it never got shot much in its lifetime, as the inside, lockup, and trigger pull are like new. The sights were altered to allow for the front to be shaved off for my load, and also dovetailed to allow windage adjustment. It is sighted at 25 yards, dead on, and I usually load down, a 250gr lead bullet @ 750fps. Nothing is more fun and challenging than taking this 96 year old gun out and standing it up against newer guns, either mine or fellow shooters.:D

There's too many to list. I've got a bunch of 22s and cowboy guns out the kazoo. I've also got a few commie surplus guns.even though I've carried a couple of the SAAs and the Mak and Tok they're all pretty much just for fun.

Have several that were in the 'not really needed, but fun' category, courtesy of working p/t at a LGS and a great, understanding wife.

- NEF Handi-Rifle in .500 S&W (like an earlier poster)

- CZ52 in 7.62x25 (loud and cheap to shoot!)

- Uberti Cattleman SA Colt clone, 5.5" bbl. with .45 ACP cyl. only (cost-$150)

- Bulgarian Makarov 9x18 (used to be my 'truck gun')

- Win. M97 12 ga. Riot Gun, perfect/original

Fun Guns

Fun guns? Great idea for a thread. I own a lot of guns that I bought because I thought that they'd be "fun" . Two rifle barrels for my T/C rifles - one chambered for the 7.62 MicroWhisper and the other for the 50-70-750:

A British Bulldog in .44 RIC:

And some that I don't have pics for - an FN FiveSeven, an M1 Carbine, a Martini-Henry 577-450 Longlever.
Most of my firearms are fun guns.
