"Fun" Guns in Your Collection

I bought these as fun guns,,,

But they shoot so well I might start carrying one or the other of them.

Taurus PLY in .22 LR and .25 ACP.

The little things just work.

All of my .22 pistols (ranging from SA revolver, DA\SA revolver, SA Semi, DA\SA Semi, and SAO semi) are fun guns.

Someday I'm going to take a family portrait of them all together.

I know, I know, I'm the odd ball here but NONE of my guns have ever been purchased with SD/HD being a primary or even secondary reason. All of my guns less one or two have been purchased with hunting first and foremost in mind and since I have fun hunting that would make all of them fun. The one or two that were not purchased with hunting in mind were purchased primarily as range toys. First being a full size .45 Witness-P and the second being a .32 H&R Ruger. The Witness is long gone and the .32 sees the field though.

But as you might of guessed my so-called hunting guns can and will serve quite admirably in a SD/HD role shall the need arise. But no way in HE** am I gonna own a gun with one role that I will more than likely never need (i.e. defence).

All my guns with the exception of three were bought solely for pleasure shooting/hunting. My houseguns were bought for recreation but do double duty. My cc guns were bought for that purpose.

Fun Comanchee

Shooters:

I have a Super Comanchee that shoots a 45 LC or a 410. I hardly ever shoot the 45LC but it is just a lot of fun to squirrel hunt and plink with the 410.

I also have a Hi-point 9mm that I bought just for the fun of having a semi-auto hand gun with a caliber bigger that 22. At ten feet I can shoot about a four inch group. At 25 yards I can't even get them on the paper.

Purely for fun.

I have purchased a good many guns because the price was right, and a few have been handed down to me, but my favorite handgun to shoot is without question my Ruger 9.5" S.S. 44 mag. :D

With that being said, my favorite rifle for pure enjoyment is my recently acquired
Remington Model 34 that'll handle short long and long rifle. That gun is far more accurate than any of my 10/22s or larger caliber rifles and is most likely more capable than the man shooting it is.

It is getting older now, and I purchased it with a nice even brownish rusted patina but it is not pitted and it will still shoot anything I feed it so IMHO it is a great gun.

I just wish I could mount my redfield scope to it lol;)

Pretty much all of my .22 pistols,,,

But especially the NEOS and 22/45,,,
They serve no practical purpose in my arsenal.

I suppose one could argue that my CZ Kadet is a trainer for my 9mm CZ.
As well as my Model 18 being a trainer for my Model 15.

But for the most part,,,
My .22 pistols are fun guns.

I do not remember the model number but, it was a S&W N frame, matt stainless steel, three inch barrel .45 Colt that I had the factory laser "engrave". I had always wanted a double action Smith in .45 Colt.
It was too heavy for concealed carry, not a "house gun", too short barreled and low velocity for hunting. It really had no purpose except as a toy to shoot and enjoy. I sold it to a person in Alaska, in a little town that had frequent polar bear visits...although I would never recommend it for that purpose either. It had those nice wood grips that come on the Smiths from their custom shop. A thing of beauty.

"fun"guns

Let's see-I bought an AMT Automag II because it really is fun to shoot(when it doesn't jam);a Nambu, which I found ammo for,but the extractor flew off after several shots;a Colt 2nd Generation SAA in 38 Special which is a pleasure to shoot;a Uberti Schofield 45 Colt breaktop which is a perfect balance of single and double action features;a CZ52 because of the interesting roller locking action;and a US Firearms 45 SAA,which I think is better than the original Colts.
Just to mention a few:D

All of mine are fun. In order of fun.
1. Single shot Dixie Gun works Kentucky Pistol Kit. Built it from a kit.
2. Remington New Model Army Replica. 44 cal revolver. Love to try to squirel hunt with it. When you miss you can watch the branches fall as that big bullet cuts several branches as it travels down a hedge row.
3. Win Mod 70 338 win Mag. Just for the recoil and the reaction of macho men when they experience real recoil.

Oops

I forgot two more that I bought strictly for "fun"-my Colt 1917 Army and a Browning HP in 30 Luger.Neither is something I'd use for HD or SD but they are interesting and fun to shoot.
i don't own any safe queens.

M1 Carbine.
(Sorry for it being a rifle but my various handguns are pretty much for more serious purposes. Now, rifles chambered for pistol cartridges, those are fun. :))

RIA 1911 9mm, bought it for range fun but its so awesome and accurate I now carry it some. Just bought some fiber optic sights for it to carry at my deer lease for those opportune moments at game that seem to happen once in awhile such as Hog and varmints. ;)

fun guns

I think my most fun guns are my H&R 1873 Trapdoor in 45-70 for its western/calvary coolness and my 1928A1 Thompson SMG. Cant go wrong with a full auto for fun!!!!

my blackpowder pietta remington 1858 pistol is a blast to shoot...it's the
epitome of a recreational gun.

it's a blast to shoot. so much so, that i'm soom adding a blackpowder
rifle to go along with it.

Not just for fun.

I have to be able to see a possible need for my guns other than just fun. Often I do have to stretch my imagination really far. Like being chased by a bear (in central Texas) or being invaded by terrorists and being the last line of defense or being the one man that can stop a mass shooting rampage or having to hunt for survival.
What was the question? Oh yeah. I probably like the SKS, 9mm pistol, and 22 handguns and rifles most for just fun plinking. The ammo is cheap for all of them, so I can shoot a lot. I have other guns for more serious purposes such as ccw, home defense, and hunting.

The .357/.38 Uberti Hombre I bought on gunbroker for $250 a few months ago would fit the description. I just always wanted a cowboy style pistol and this was a really affordable way to get one. Love it.

Next "fun gun" I'd like to get would be a Rossi Ranch Hand in .357/.38.
