Former Taliban admitted to Yale

Sayed Rahmatullah Hashemi has been admitted to Yale University. After the US attacked the Afghanistan he says he became disillusioned with the Taliban after defending them in earlier statements ;) Mr. Hashemi has been cleared by severl interagency checks. Those same agencies that bought you 9/11. Wonder if had trouble with his name on the no fly list?

Yales statement says that he has not been admmited but has been allowed to take college courses for credit in a part time program.

Wonder if he will be admitted to the ROTC Program? Oops Yale doesnt have any ROTC programs. Maybe a military recruiter will stop by to talk to him? Oops no recruiters there either.

I wonder is a disabled military veteran would get the same treatment when he applies to Yale?

This is the same guy who thought the US was misguided for calling Osama a terrorist.

Who knows maybe Yale didnt want to lose this student to Harvard..lol

And see what that GPA has gotten us?
Yale is a private university. Why shouldn't they have the right to allow anyone they like to attend?

Good for him, Yale is a good school.

Oops no recruiters there either.
Not true, btw. The law school doesn't want recruiters but some of the other schools do in fact allow recruiters as long as they follow the same non-discriminatory standards of other job recruiters. Wouldn't be a problem if the military leaders didn't have their head up their asses with the gay issue.

Lord Nikon,

Well, the GPA hasn't gotten us double digit inflation, double digit interest rates for loans, and double digit unemployment.( I was a young fella during the wonderous Carter administration). The tax cuts have brought revenues to an all time high. The bad part is the congress critters are spending more than ever.

No follow up attacks on US soil have occured.

Yale does have a right to recruit anyone they care to recruit. We have a right to protest that decision.

My point was that good president/bad president has little to nothing to do with GPA. It isn't as though Bush touts his GPA all over the place. Nor has his GPA stopped further terrorist attacks on US soil.

You have the right, legally, to protest just about anything. However, do you have a reason?

Lord Nikon,

Point well taken sir! The original post was one exercising levity.

As for Yale bringing a Taliban spokesperson in as a student is, in my humble opinion, akin to bringing in Goebbels. Obviously this Taliban spokesperson touted a regime that terrorized the citizenry of Afghanistan.

Women were denied jobs and proper medical care under the Taliban. Personal freedoms were severely curtailed under the Taliban. The Taliban gave aid and comfort to Osama Bin Laden. The list goes on. Diversity should not apply to snakes who would destroy our way of life. Maybe others see it differently. Fine. My opinion is he should be shipped back.

Letting the moral equivalent of Goebbels attend Yale is offensive. The Nazis wanted to kill all the Jews and so do the Taliban. The Nazis wanted everyone to submit to their way of thinking and so do the Taliban. Those who resisted the Nazis were killed or oppressed. Hmmmm! The Taliban practices the same thing.

Yale and its enlightened administration have a better grasp of the world than the rest of us. We should never turn our backs on American hating propagandists. Heck, lets get this fellow a job with the NY Times or The Washington Post. He'd fit right in.:D

Hey, I agree that he's a terrible guy PATH. What I'm saying is that him being here is more a function of the government, rather than Yale. Yale can't let people into the country.

Lord Nikon,

My name looks great in caps!;) :D

The government is, in my humble opinion, nuts to let him in. Yale is nuts for bringing this viper on their campus. Somewhere in academia there must be someone who loves this country in some small fashion! Alas I fear it is wishful thinking!:(

Yes,the same Bush who had a higher grade point qverage than Kerry!

PATH,
I'm not a betting man but I'll make an exception here!
Put Kerry and Dahhhhh ba ya in front of a SAT test and Bush wouldn't get much farther than the instructions.
The Pierce Family's dirty little secret! :(
Nothing like besmirching the name of an otherwise great institution of higher education!
Anyone who heard the guy speak at least once knows better!
But he has "growd" the economy and put food on his family and made the pie higher All these things are engrenoble qualities of a MBA Yale grad!  :D No child dropped on his head!
What a freaking embarrassment!:barf:

So Rimrock, how do you really feel about GW?:D Smart enough I guess to get hisself 'lected twice.:D Economy is doing well. Unemployment below 5 percent. Interest rates are low as is the rate of inflation. Home ownership is at an all time high. As I remember it was Carville who admonished us, "it's the economy stupidf"!

There is very little, at this point in time, to further besmirch the name of Yale. Old Eli is running itself into the ground all by its lonesome. They don't much like the military but they love Taliban propagandists!

I take it you won't be inviting G.W. for a social tea any time soon?;) :D

PATH,
I wonder how he feels knowing that Osama got him elected the second time.
As to the homes and rates well..interest rates are determined by the Fed Reserve. Shortly after His Boneheadness was "selected" the Fed Res. had to pump money into the economy like a patient on life support:eek: Something about the circumstance in which he assumed office. Markets don't like manipulation or the appearance therof!
The lowest rates since the early sixties = the econ was in the toilet! What's it say for "His Wonderfulness" when the rates are still low after 5 years? Hint: The econ is still not able to go without the Feds IV in the arm.
As to "the life of the party...Bonerboy has an all time subterrianian approval rating of 35% while the VP, His Dickness has 18%. Now there's some numbers over which to rejoice!  Hell, child molesters get 10%:D
No he's not going to make our family BBQ this year. Something about a cranialectomy being performed by his proctologist!
The old mans OK ......my son and I spent some quality time with him on the links. Skippy couldn't make! The Simpson's were on!

No one gave a crap about the Taliban until the harbored Bin Laden. Then everyone wails and moans about their human rights problems, shifting their old silence to Saudi Arabia and Yemen with about the same laws.

We supported the Taliban in the '80s and probably helped them secure power - so let's just put a sock in the weak Goebbels comparisons.

Well, which is it? Many universities offer adult continuing education to people it would not admit to the regular student body. That isn't "admitted" to anything.

Is this a bad time to point out that if this person was the Devil's own nephew, why did INS give him a student visa? Or are universities supposed to have that job?

Which is it  Well he is taking college courses at Yale so he is a student there. Is Yale just playing a word game? You tell me.

My point is would Yale have made the same concessions to a disabled war vet, its not like we dont have plenty of needy students here in the United States.

I guess you missed this:
Many universities offer adult continuing education to people it would not admit to the regular student body.
I don't know what disabled vets have to do with this, but they would also be able to take the same classes because there is no admission requirements aside from any prerequisites and tuition. It is a Junior College program: Learn to weld, get your GED, learn Spanish, get Calc 1 out of the way. Get it? Northwestern had a similar night program they called "University College" - I don't even think the instructors had anything to do with the regular faculty.

I say again, if this man is a threat, why are you wondering why he is in a school when you should be wondering why he's in the country?

Well, this one's going nowhere in a hurry.

Does anybody even have a link or source for the story in question?

Handy,

The Goebbels comparison is valid. Realpolitic saw us facing Soviet expansion into the Asian sub-continent. You might remember that Jimmy Carter did little to counter the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. Our boycotting the Olympics probably sent a chill down their spine.

Soviet air power was in the process of crushing the Afghani insurgency until we intervened with arms, advisors, and most importanlty Stinger shoulder fired missles. Soviet air craft could not properly support ground operations and thus Afghan Mujahadeen forces made successful assaults on the communist government.

The Afghan insurgency was made up of several factions. Afghanistan as you know is broken up into several ethnic and tribal groups. The Northern Alliance for instance was fighting the Taliban when we invaded Aghanistan. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. The major threat at the time was the Soviet Union not nascent Islamofacism.

The Islamofascist Taliban, was a repressive group that oppressed the people of Afghanistan, especially women! George the 1st and Clinton did little to address the rise of the Taliban and protect the Afghani people. Please note that the Taliban was full of non-native Islamofacists. No one took notice of Afghanistan until Bin Laden was given refuge by the Taliban.

Hashemi was the spokesperson for the Islamofacist Taliban. The Taliban oppressed Afghans and harbored Bin Laden. It is quite easy to see the paralells to the Nazis.

As for the INS....look at the immigration situation on our southern border. I disagree with the Government letting Hashemi into the country and I think Yale should not let him on its campus.

PS

The Saudis and Yemenis while having stringent laws allow women medical treatment. I don't agree with a great many things they do and the day may come when they are on the other side as it were. Realpolitic at the present time makes them allies. Remember the Russians and Chinese were once allies and the Germans and Japanese were enemies. Funny how things change but there you have it.

Rimrock,

When did Osama become a member of the RNC?:D

Markets apparently like manipulatiion as the DOW has soared over 11,000. The recession he inherited from Clinton was dealt with by tax cuts. Revenue is at an all time high. As I said before, the problem is rampant and maniacal spending on the part of Congress. I only fault GW for his not using the power of the VETO!

I will tell GW you send your best!;) :D
