I can finally contribute to this wonderful list ... picked up a Hi-Point 9mm carbine this morning -- $210 with two mags and front grip handle ... I see a range trip in my future ... still hoping to get one of the new Smith 1911 E models later in the year ...

If you don't count the CZ Kadet kit I bought right after New years, then this would be my first complete gun purchase of 2011:
EAA Witness Match .45

OK, it's March. So here is #3 for the year:

My checkbook says I gotta stop, but hey, next month is my Birthday. Something has to show up in the safe!!!

I wasn't going to buy anymore guns this year, but I had a Dan Wesson Vbob on layaway. I paid it off and brought it home a few weeks ago. It's a beautiful 1911, and hey, its the centennial year for the 1911. But soon after, a deal on an 8mm Mauser came up ($100) and this week a 9mm PPS for $300. I'm going to have to stop, but now there's a Rohrbaugh at the lgs that they said I can put on layaway... Must resist...

My first of 2011 was a 98% condition nickel plated Colt detective special, born in 1981. just found it sitting in the bottom of the used gun case at one of my LGS's!
Maybe once I figure out the picture posting process (and have time to do so), I will post pics!

Picked her up today,,,

Mr. Evil at the Evil Pawn Shop called me today,,,
Less than an hour later I walked out with this new beauty.

Beretta Model 87 in .22 LR.

Can't get out to the range until Saturday,,,
So I'll spend the next three evenings fondl,,, eerrr,,,
Cleaning the shipping oil out of her insides and getting her ready to dance.

There are 200 mini-mags with her name on them,,,
Well, not her name as I haven't chosen one for her as yet.

three this year...

I started off thinking about the cost of shooting, but still wanting to maintain proficiencies in shooting. So I picked up the Sig Mosquito, and have been very pleased with it so far, (200+ rounds no issues). Then a couple days later met up with a fella selling his XD .40, (less than 200 rounds through it). Field stripped the gun and there was so little ware it was obvious how little the firearm was used. Needles to say I had to pick it up… I always wanted a second XD  And shortly after I ordered a Stag Arms Model 8, such a good price I just couldn’t pass it up.

So this year my goal, (despite the costs) is more range time, more training, and perhaps give some competitive shooting a shot :D

... And yes I need to get a Springfield 1911, (RO or Operator).
