First .45 acp?

Buy what fits your hand and you shoot the best. I have had, and assigned various 45s from the various makers. I love my glock 21 and 20, but dont like the smaller glocks. I find the bulky double stacks most comfortable and accurate but YMMV. Rent beg borrow various guns until you find what you like.
