Firearms & Ammo for Church Security

Several of the orthodox guys who attend the local orthodox synagogue pack, so does the rabbi. One of my buds (who manages to combine a strict orthodox lifestyle with a high stress job and every weekend of fishing or hunting) packs two at shul

The reform folks (a lot bigger congregation)...I know 10 folks that pack while attending.

Youre jewish, ya got a target on your back. I feel bad for those in places like NYC where they are sitting ducks for the next loon or terr. Its called a soft target

I have Jewish friends who tell me that there are way too many liberal/anti-gun Jews, considering the facts you just stated above.

Many liberal jews are not anti gun. They are just liberals.

There is more to life than the issue of gun control

I agree with Wild it is not that liberal Jews in the US are anti-gun it is just not a hot button issue for them. Civil liberties and social justice seem to be front and center.

Since he is Jewish, an American Deputy Sheriff, and travels quite frequently between the US and Israel, I'll take his word for it.

And I do realize there are quite a few liberals on this site, too

BTW, here is a good resource from our Jewish brothers:

Makes sense let your one Jewish friend define and label an entire people. Way to keep an open mind. :barf:

I am Jewish grew up in Montgomery Co. MD in a heavily Jewish community. My parents are from Boston and NYC. This does not mean I can speak on behalf of the rest of the chosen people. Your friend is entitled to his opinion but for you to repeat it as if it is fact shows quiet a bit of arrogance and ignorance on your part.

Those who practice Judaism are a diverse group who hold varying opinions. Why on earth are you trying to stereotype them based on what your one friend said? Should I characterize all Baptists based on your perceptions or your statements?

I merely said
I have Jewish friends who tell me that there are way too many liberal/anti-gun Jews,
I also know there are way too many Americans who are liberal/anti gun.

That is all.

Bye, now

I consider myself to be a heavily armed liberal in many repects.

I have a Webley like that :)

Sometimes I see myself at a beach bar in Haifa, wearing Khaki shorts and smoking a Gaulois with a lissome dark eyed girl next to me, Webley on my hip.........

I'm just trying to wrap my head around being searched to attend church,

in the company of a security team.

Hope this works out well for you, OP, but it is not a church

you will see me attending...

Therewolf, I guess they'll have to protect their own without you, huh? Glad we don't attend the same church.

At the NTI - a high end tactical event - there were a disproportionate number of members of the the tribe, Ken. Interesting though, most had PhDs. Hmm! :D

I have had some of my people ask me why I do the gun thing? My answer is that I'm not getting on the train that easily. Others in town, happily go to matches and blaze away.

Personally, I think that although there are a lot of liberals here (I assume), there aren't enough conservatives. Most of those who call themselves conservative are radicals to me.

I dunno, maybe it seems weird, but I carry in church just like anywhere else. Of course, my Sunday go to meetin' pistol is engraved.

Let's tone down the liberal / conservative stuff. Enuf said.

If you don't want to carry in some house of worship, don't. However, one principle should be that the state should not decide if the places is off limits.

In TX, we decided that the house of worship would have to post a big sign if it was off-limits.
