The Walther PPQ M1 9mm is number one for me. It's changed my view on striker models. Exceptional accuracy, great ergonomics, fully ambidextrous, reliable, and aesthetically pleasing to boot. My close second pick not on the list would be the Steyr M9-A1/L9-A1. The Sig 320 and HK VP9 round out my top tier choices.

That group could expand depending on how the CZ P-10 and Beretta APX turn out.

Tough choice...

I own every one of those except for the XD, and I did own one before.

Of my current pistols, I rank them like this...

In terms of trigger...

1) M&P (with a polished action and Apex FSS)
2) PPQ
3) M&P Pro (with polished action and Apex poly replacement trigger)
4) 320 (This would have been 3 but it has a bit more over travel than I like)
5) VP9
6) Glock

As far as ergonomics...

1) VP9
2) PPQ, M&P, 320 (with small frame)... difficult to separate them really. I like them all in different ways.
3) Glock

I might put the VP9 as my overall pick if pressed.

Not to pick on M&P owners but the early ones were such dogs I'm not sure how they really survived. I've read so many posts where people swear how great they were after replacing the barrel and control group with Apex. I always thought why not just buy a real pistol to start with, seriously. ;) ;)

The newer ones are ok as far as triggers, especially with a little polish. The Pro versions were good. The ergos are the main draw.

People who are not snobbish about triggers didn't mind the trigger though... Me, I don''t like an ill defined trigger feel and pull.

I am not a big fan of striker fired guns. I own just 3 out of 16 guns that are striker fired and two are HKs and one is a Glock. I have been shooting since 1972 and only bought my first striker fired pistol in 2010. I still have a bias towards all metal hammer fired guns. Heck, Almost half of my guns are revolvers. :) I do like the HK VP9. It is in my night table. An HK P30SK is hidden in what looks like an ordinary object in my living room which I bought from Tactical Walls. A .357 S&W 686 is in the desk in my man cave and a 1911 is in a handgun safe in another room. My wife's HD gun is a revolver.

I am just old fashioned and tend to go with the guns I trained with and used.

I don't own one , but the Walther PPQ has the best striker fired trigger that I have felt . I am thinking about getting one , but I am going to wait and see how the CZ P-10 does .

I have years of experience with my G17, G19, and G21 that would be hard to duplicate with 9mm and .45ACP striker pistols from other manufacturers, although the Walther PPQ 9mm and .45ACP come the closest. I think the G's that I have are very well suited for their intended purposes.

The first time I bought a striker-fired gun it was a hard decision, but I went with a PPQ. The next time I bought a striker-fired gun it was much easier decision...another PPQ. And the third time I bought a striker-fired gun in was a no-brainer...a third PPQ. Everyone's entitled to an opinion, and mine is that the PPQ is an a different class than the rest of the guns on that list, period.

Would it be safe to say you like the PPQ. ;)

I carry a Glock 26 ("none of the above") most days. Good pistol. I don't have extensive experience with others on the list, and some I haven't handled at all. The Sig heads that latter list, and with all the good press it is getting I might need to remedy that.

I'm surprised no one has asked yet, but when asked a favorite, I have to ask, "For what purpose?"

No specific purpose, just wanted to know about other members preference in a striker fired pistol. I probably can't imagine all the different reasons people may have for picking their favorite, but I do find them entertaining and informative.

Out of an abundance of inexperience with the models on the list, I voted for the one I own: the G19. I've handled & shot a few, but that's the only one with which I have any reasonably significant experience.
