Favorite sidearm while hunting?

I carry my .22 pistol (Ruger SR22). I figure a sidearm for hunting is really only useful for coup de grace headshots, you will use your rifle for self defense if you need to. Loaded with stingers so I don't have to worry about the round penetrating and ricocheting off a rock as much.

For finishing off a wounded animal, a .22 is good because most people can shoot them more accurately and get the headshot and the chance of ricochet is much lower.

My current hunting, woods bumming, or fishing side arms are a S&W 60-15 3" (hardly know it's there) or my Ruger flat top .45 Colt. When snakes are around the first two chambers are loaded with shot shells.
