.44 Special, and .45 ACP. I've done the best "work" with both, but really wanted the .40 S&W to work out, just have never found a gun that would shoot it as well as the .45 ACP. Regards, Rodfac
....at least for me. A revolver chambered for the great .357 magnum also handles the fun, milder .38 special. Uses? About anything! Any situation you can't handle with a 125 grain JHP .357 magnum cartridge calls for a very serious rifle.
I own more revolvers and pistols in .38 Special than anything else. Adding .357 Magnum as a 'brother' round, I have more .38/.357 than most everything else combined. I shoot more .38 Special ammunition than any other centerfire.
However, I have a great affinity for .44 Special. I appreciate the .44 Magnum but prefer the older round for general shooting. .44 Special, properly loaded will do most anything; from target shooting to taking serious game.
I've always had a .45 ACP pistol, and .45 ACP revolvers since - well, a long time. .45 ACP is another versatile round, running from light to very serious.
And I have an affection for Super .38. Just because.
I think the .44 Special is my favorite. But not by much.
this is like asking which one of my children I love more.
and I love all my children
