Favorite .45?

Of course my G30. She ain't pretty but she is accurate and extremely reliable. Plus she can put up with my sweat. Don't get me wrong, I love a 1911 with a beautiful blue job, but it won't put up with my sweat and other assorted nasties that get on my daily carry weapon.

Well, I'm certainly in a minority here...

My current .45 is the S&W 4506!!!

Is it heavy??? YES (but, only a bit heavier than the 1911)

Is it big??? YES

The trigger is like butta, and the accuracy is very good. On my foirst trip out, I was making drinking cups dance around the ground where I was shooting.

This gun will not replace my SIGs (p225/p226) by any means, but it does fill my urge for .45, and it is the only gun I wil purchace because I saw it on a TV show...
 
I didn't even know there was any 45 calibered pistol except for the 1911 :D


Make mine a full size stainless 1911. Any of the top brands are good.
 
I used various manufacturer's 1911's for twenty years but have recently switched my carry gun to a Glock 21. I couldn't more strongly recommend any other gun. Comfort, ease of use, ease of maintenance, accuracy, reliability - it's got it all.

I have been known, however, to strap on one of the 1911's when I feel nostalgic . . .
 
Hey there Clark Kent (aka Superman:D), that Star PD sure is a blast from the past. Had one probably 20 yrs. ago. That was my first 45 and it had a lot going for it back then. I carried it far more than I ever shot the darn thing. I remember using it to discharge some ole possum caught in a leg trap however. Although I can't remember much about how it shot , it was a dream to carry and would like to own another some day.
