Every American should be required to buy a revolver

I was thinking today while watching the Supreme Court that every American should be required to buy a revolver. We would call it the Affordable Firearm Act and have exchanges for people who couldnt afford one.

The revolver is the safest and easiest to use firearm out there. It is a firearm you can operate safely waking up from a deep slumber. It is the only firearm which I feel safe with by the nightstand. I certainly wouldnt put a Glock on that stand.

My best advice for the first timer is to get a revolver and stick with that a while. Its cheap, its safe and its also fun to shoot. Dont worry. The 38 Special was stopping people long before you were born. It was the main gun for officers for a long long time.

Dont get yourself a Glock...get yourself a revolver. Its safe fool resistant design will last the test of time...nope its not outdated and quite a few officers would still have the use of their legs had they been originally issued one. Put your trust in the American revolver.

I don't think every American should be require to own or required to get rid of anything they have, but I do agree with your sentiment. Revolvers are great guns, and often get a reputation for being old, outdated, and slow. The only revolvers that get any news are those that are tacticool or those that fire a round I'd rather have in a rifle, but they still have a following. At 28, I'm an anomaly, but there are those of us out there that love the wheel gun. The world goes round and round, not back and forth. :D

No. The government shouldn't be able to force any citizen to buy anything.

Nonsense!
Safety wise, the only difference between a Glock and the typical revolver is about 8 lbs of trigger-pull.
And if you think that a mere 8 lbs of trigger-pull makes you safer then you are deluding yourself.

KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL THE TARGET IS IN YOUR SIGHTS, AND YOU ARE PREPARED TO SHOOT.

BTW, if not against revolvers and I do own three.

Love how everyone gets all worked up about the government requiring them to buy ObamaCare. But being required to buy a revolver is all fine and dandy. You know since it's not all librul and stuff.

And if you think that DA trigger really makes you safer than a Glock, then put a NY trigger in your Glock.

Every American

Noo not every.. I have seen people who are nuts and wouldn't trust them with a gun.

I do think we should offer target shooting in highschool/college teams.

Not sure if everyone else is joking or not so I will just point out in case someone here is actually serious.... The OP was being facetious.

Are you the OP?

Peacefulgary already posted my sentiment on the matter...

I think they're floating the idea that every American should be required to buy health insurance - why don't we see how that one goes before we move on to revolvers.

Haven't you had enough of government telling you what to do? Many of us would be trying to find a way out of it if they imposed this on us.

only after every american spends their mandatory 4 years in the military. :D

maybe that is even a way to eliminate the cost problem. They issue you a revolver in basic training and you keep it after your 4 years are up.
