Ever regret selling some of your guns?

The only gun I truly regret selling is a Beretta 92FS. I've sold others like Hi-Points, a P3AT, and Ruger LCP. I don't regret selling those.

"Anybody else miss any of the guns you sold?"

Nope. I've only sold two, a Beretta 950 Minx in .22Short (too underpowered and unreliable -- too many stovepipe jams) and a S&W 2.5" barrel model 66 that was a little too much for me. No regrets. The other dozen I have are all keepers.

Over the years I have bought and sold many but only one really I regret.
I had a Marlin 9mm Camp carbine. The sweetest little rifle I ever owned.
Through iron sites at 100 yd you could take a crow off a broom stick.
I got offered twice what i paid for it, I figured I would find another one but they seem to be scarce.
I Had some great load's worked up for that gun that just can't be used in any pistol.:(:p

I had a Ruger Single Six that I regret selling. Sure I got the Mk2 with the proceeds, but I miss that wheelgun.

biggest regrets are:
selling a 30-30 for $100 - now u can't find 1 under $300
trading a MAK90 for a pistol - the MAK has tripled in price, sold the pistol for used market value.

98% Colt Pre War National Match .45, with adjustable sights, purchased from the original owner. Could Never afford to replace it now.

I have sold several guns for several reason...

...and I only really miss one of them. The one I miss is a Para Ordnance Slim Hawg.

They are tools. If they are not heirlooms then I see no reason to not part with one in favor of a better tool.

My Dad give me a Ruger Single Six 22lr/22 Mag years ago and then he sold it out from under me. In its place, he gave me a S&W 686 so I came out ahead but, I still miss that Ruger. It was a blast to shoot using 22 Mags.

Guess maybe I am a sentimental fool or perhaps I just enjoy all the guns I have because I just can't imagine selling a single one of them.

I could write a book about this...

A simply beautiful 357 Dan Wesson revolver with the six inch barrel and underlug shroud attached.

That's one I kept since 1979. Mine is stainless made in Monson. :D

I don't miss my two Smith 29s, 6' and 4', since both went out of time and had to be sent back to the factory. Nor do I miss the 686 with the headspace problems. I don't miss the S&W Mod. 39 "jamamatic". I also don't miss the HKs which would not cycle hollow points (this was a long time ago). Nor do I miss my H&K VP-70 - what a joke.

BUT - I miss my Model 28, and ALL my Rugers - Superblackhawk .44 mag., Security Six .357, Speed Six 9mm, Redhawk 5.5" .44, et al.

The semi-autos I miss are my H&K P7, and the first pistol I sold - a Series 70 Colt 1911

I miss my Browning BLR in .243 -- kept all the handguns. Swapped that on a shotgun that I never could shoot worth a darn, gave that to my son to swap on an AK....

I will never ever sell another gun. I've sold an STG 2000 NIB for 300.00, I didn't like the way it felt. Imagine what I could get for it now! I could've just used it as a truck gun instead of taking it as a loss, or even as replacement parts for my other AKs. I've lost a Winchester 94 and a Winchester 70 Featherweight NIB at a pawnshop that gave me 275.00 for it. I was a stupid young 19 yearold with bad partying habits. Lost the guns and not kidding, the same year Winchester went out of business! Sold Ruger Mark III, because I couldn't put it back together. Sold my first gun, Ruger Mini 14 Ranch Rifle given to me by my uncle, because I wanted an AR-15 badly, even took a hog with it. Sold a LNIB Saiga 308 when they were only 360 for 300.00 even gave them a 50.00 20rd magazine with the deal. All because I had just got my Springfield Loaded M1A and thought it wouldn't serve a purpose to me. Sold a Remington 700 ADL 7mm with a Leupold 3x9, first deer rifle, saved up for it in high school and lost 175.00 when I sold it because for some reason I wanted something more primitive for hunting?! Gave my Brother in law a 1911 Colt my dad gave me, as a wedding gift to him. Stupid Huh? Sold a Ruger GP-100 that I once shot a turkey in the head with in the luckiest shot of my short life, because I temporarily let a friend take it shooting and he dropped it on concrete in a stupid drunken argument he had gotten into. Some friend huh? Not very responsible on both our parts for that matter. I shouldn't have let him take it, he is no longer my friend.

Well I've grown up a lot since then, I also sold about 70 informational books that I had accumulated through highschool for 20.00 one time! Then sold my 69 Impala with a 454, 77 El Camino with a 400, 73 Duster w/ 318. All at a loss because I had to keep them at my moms house, and she was fussing. My remaining guns are not going anywhere but to my kids(when I have them) or my coffin. My 72 Lemans and 73 Nova Hatchback are mine for eternity. I don't care if we run out of gasoline or they tax ammunition out of existance. Every gun and car has a use no matter how limited. Some people collect art and last time I checked paintings don't do anything but look pretty. Well I think everyones guns and cars can do that duty!

P.S. In case you're wondering I'm 23 and have truly matured and learned some hard lessons since then. Sorry to ramble but feels good to let it out!

I almost puked today when I saw the price of P08's @ Gander Mountain. I thought about the hundreds that passed through my hands for under $100. Didn't see any C96's, probably the best for me. At that time they went for a bit more than Luger's.

I SHOULD HAVE KEPT THEM ALL!!

Nope. Only sold one. My first and last Taurus. A titanium Tracker in .357 w/a 4" barrel. After three trips back to the factory to fix the same problem I was disgusted with it. After firing it enough to confirm they had finally fixed the problem I sold it at a 40% loss and used the money to by a like new stainless Ruger Security Six .357 w/a 4" barrel. The Ruger is 100x the gun the Taurus was and is the last of my firearms I would ever part with.

I do regret passing on a couple when I was just learning about handgun. I passed on a High Standard Supermatic Citation in excellent condition. It's the one that looks like a raygun with the barrel weights underneath and the weights off the end. It even had a nice Millet red dot scope mounted on it. The scope alone was over $100 at the time. It was $325 for the package. Fortunately I told a family member about it and they bought it. Now you cannot touch the gun alone for under $500.

I also passed on a blued Dan Wesson .357 that came with 2" and 6" barrels for $250.

The worst part is I passed on both because I was saving for the titanium Taurus. :barf:
