Ever regret selling some of your guns?

When times were really rough for us, I sold lots of my guns and never did get really good money for any of them.
I especially miss my Ruger GP-100 4", S&W M-66 6 ", Ruger Super Single Six, Ruger Standard .22, S&W M-19 4" and S&W M-59.
Several others that I sold I DON'T miss at all!

I got a decent little collection built back up again now that I'm older, but man, do I wish I had never sold those guns mentioned. Especially the 3 that are no longer in production.

Anybody else miss any of the guns you sold? Stories?
 
Only one.

If I could buy one back,that would be it.
 
Yeah, I sold a P7M8 to purchase a SIG P228. DO NOT regret the P228 but wish I still has the P7M8. It was my favorite CCW of all time. :(

Sold a Colt Delta Elite 10mm to my Dad when I needed some extra cash and really miss that one. Of course I can shoot it whenever I want. :)
 
I've only sold two guns. The first was a Talon T-100 that I bought for $50. After I bought it I learned that Talon went out of business because a whole lot of people with broken jaws were sueing the crap out of them. Turns out their slides liked to break in half as it was being fired. I didn't want to sell it because of the danger, but I did sell it to a pawn shop that marketed primarily to gang members. I don't really feel bad about it, especially since they gave me $175 for it.

The second gun I sold was my S&W Sigma. I had it for about a year and then when money got real short I sold it to buy a birthday gift for the girl I was seeing at the time. A few months later caught her cheating on me, and then a few weeks after that someone tried to break into my apartment (I wasn't home).

After that I bought another Sigma that I still have. I've vowed never to sell anymore of my guns. Even the few I don't shoot or like anymore I'm keeping to pass down to my children.
 
I don't have a gun that I have remorse over selling. I do have remorse over passing up obvious bargins because I was a stupid cheapskate at the time. Once at a gunshow I found a beautiful Smith&Wesson model 19 2 1/2 inch barrel 357 magnum with nib looks. They were only asking for $250.00 for it and I had the money on me and really liked it a lot...came back a few minutes later to look again and it was gone. Man I wished I would not have passed on that one.
 
Still own every gun I've ever been given or bought. Can't think of any reason I'd ever sell or trade one.
 
I've only sold a few of my guns over the years, but I regret losing everyone of them. The reasons were never good enough, and sometimes down right stupid.

We used to have a pawn shop here that was owned by a guy we lovingly called "The Fat Man". He would loan generally $100 on just about any gun, unless it was obviosly a budget special. Many were the guns that never got reclaimed in time; often guns worth five or six hundred bucks.

To this day, lots of us can sit around and sing the blues about firearms that we lost to "The Fat Man". A few of mine were- an early three screw Blackhawk, in 30 carb.,excellent condition. A sporterized Mauser 98, 30-06, nicely done by Golden State Arms, - great shooter. A Rem. 870, 20 ga., new in 1970, my first repeater shotgun. Barrel lopped to 24" and rebeaded, it was death on quail, and greatly missed.

I received $100 apeice for those old friends. Would anyone like to cry with me?:( jd
 
An HK P9S in .45 ACP, and an early Bill Wilson modified 1911 Colt. Both were good trades/sales at the time, but years later it would be nice to still have them around.
 
M16A1

I sold one of my M16A1 when I return to PK after being the US. I had not check the market properly and let it go about 1000 US dollars, when the actuall market was about 2000 at the time, and now three years later it is about 4000.

I have traded many weapns always for some other that I dont regret, but this particular M16 was a mistake.
 
I have to admit, I miss my S&W 29 from time to time. It was much prettier than the Redhawk. Not as nice to shoot with magnum ammo though.

I got a good price for it, and could almost replace it for that much. ;)

In retrospect, I probably wouldn't have sold it if I'd bought some nice, non-checkered wood grips for it.

I don't really miss my Ruger P90, but I don't regret having it for 10 years either. It was a good, utilitarian gun.
 
I dont think I ever sold or traded a gun that I didnt later regret. Some to come to mind is my Model 25 Smith in 25 ACP. I sent it to Smith and have another cylender made in 45 LC. and my 547 9mm Smith, I regret trading them both.

The list is long, but I'm to the point now, I will not sell or trade any of my guns. I need something I'll buy it but I wont trade any more guns.
 
Traded an unfired Colt Mustang .380. The only one I really miss. Great platform and good looking gun. I always thought I could buy another new one anytime. Who knew back in 1995!
 
Nope, no regrets at all. If I find that I really do miss one - I go find another just like it. This works for me as I've never had any rare collector type guns. They're just tools in my book, although I have my favorites...
 
I've actually sold quite a few ( forutately never under hardship ), so most were guns that I no longer wanted / needed :confused:

but when I was younger & much much dumber ( in fact thinking about it makes me feel down right stupid )... I traded an "older" & in excellent shape Marlin 30-30, with only a couple boxes of cartridges down the chamber...

... for a 19 channel CB radio :eek:

:o what a doorknob... I know that guy saw me coming, & is probably still bragging today about his great deal... ( in my defense... it happened in the late 70's when CB's were the "in" thing, long before I got into guns stuff )
