Dream wheelgun.

For CCW I like the idea of a good, clean "fighting revolver". That means fixed sights for ruggedness, a modest barrel, round butt grip and an effective caliber.

It would look something like this...

Maker S&W
Model TBD
Barrel length As shown - approx 3"
Finish Blued
Sights Fixed
Grips: Wood
Caliber: .44 Special, .45 ACP, .45 Colt

This is about as close as I've gotten in reality.

Pretty much am satisfied with my Ruger Single Actions, especially my tuned medium frame Flattop .45 Colt revolver... Doesn't get much better. But a Colt Frontier in .45 Colt is very high on list as is a Freedom Arms in .45 Colt. Haven't aquired due to cost, so I guess you could call them 'dream guns' :) .

I have a couple, but I want a couple more.

Have:

DW 715, with 4" and 6" heavy barrels, custom sights, in near mint condition.
DW 44 6" heavy barrel, a barney gun, very low SN.

Want:

S&W 28 in 4" and 6.5". I had one and stupidly sold it.
S&W 629, no lock, of course.

Had, don't really miss:

Colt Python SS 6". Got a very nice price for it.

The ones I want aren't made and don't know if I could get them made.

First is a Smith and Wesson Performance Center 327 actually chambered in 327 Federal Magnum, 8 shot.

The second would be a remake of a forgotten bit of history, a Colt Lightning Double-Action Revolver in .32 H&R Magnum. I'd like the Shopkeeper barrel, say 3" max.

Favorite Gun

Finally finished my project to have my favorite revolver.

If we're talking fantasy revolvers, I just got a 4" blued GP100 that I plan to turn in to mine over time. My list of mods (hopefully) will include the following...

Dovetail cuts for Novak rear sight (hopefully night sights I can zero to my favorite load)
Dehorn
Action job
Gemini Customs wood grips
Target crown
Chamfer cylinders
Slab side barrel
Refinished in NP3 Plus

In my head, that's what I want. We'll see in time (hopefully by the end of the summer) whether I like it as much as my imagination does.

A 3" Ruger Speed Six with a postal inspector serial number and paperwork would be the grail revolver.

Two easily obtainable ones that I just lust over would be the Pro Series S&W 640 and 60.

To get my dream wheelgun, all I have to do is go back in a machine shop (which I've finally got access to again) and make a couple of final mods on Maurice - billet magazine well, mainly. And maybe some better grips.

This is my ultimate dream gun:

Since I will most likely never have one in the safe, my more obtainable dream gun is a Dan Wesson .445 SuperMag, 8" barrel, stainless or blue.

If you find that Vaquero let me know. I'd love to find something like that too. Doesn't even have to be a Bisley. ;)

A blue Redhawk with the top-strap welded up and reconfigured to the Speed Six profile, with a 5" barrel in 45 Colt. Mill it for moon-clipped 45 ACP/AR and bolt some antler on, while you're at it.
