Dream wheelgun.

As I have two of my holy grail revolvers, Python, my grail wheels would be......

Korth, 4" Combat .357
S&W, 4" 29, 57 or 58, and 629
Colt, any length Diamondback, Royal Blue, in both .22 and .38.

If such a beast exists;

S&W Registered Magnum (.357 type)
7 1/2" bbl
Case Hardened frame
Blued bbl
Finger Grooved/checkered Rosewood Grips
English Style Engraving
Ramped front sight w/ adjustable rear

Yes, this is a fantasy gun

I'm long on wheel guns... not "into" a specific brand or model...

had a lot of them in the past, but collected most of what I've wanted...

a couple off my list, that hunted down & that I've already collected...

a functional 22 Velo-Dog revolver
a Taurus 8 shot "Raging" 22 Hornet
a good S&W #1.5 top break single action 32 S&W
a S&W Air Weight 32 H&R Magnum 6 shot J Frame
a Dan Wesson 357 Supermag
a S&W Air Lite K frame 5 shot 44 Special
a good functional Colt 1917 45 ACP / 45 Auto rim
a custom 45 Colt single action snubbie ( mine's a birdshead stainless Ruger Montado )
a 454 Casull Ruger Alaskan

a couple I'm looking for yet...

a 30 Carbine Taurus 8 shot "Raging"
a good stainless S&W 38 Special snubbie
a 480 Ruger Alaskan

after that... I think I'm done :D

I wish there was an affordable Freedom Arms 83 Premier 454 Casull Revolver 4.75"

Looked one over and the detail is pure perfection. Worth every penny BUT since were dreaming.....

I've been very lucky building up my collection, all shooters - nothing just sits in the safe - and I have everything I want in terms of revolvers ...( about 25 S&W revolvers - model 18's and 617's in .22 / model 19's, 27's, 28's, 66's and 686's in .357 Mag - my favorite caliber in a revolver..--- and some 29's and 629's in .44 Mag..../ and one Freedom Arms in .357 Mag ....).../ and while I have a couple of them blued...I prefer the Nickel finish on the older guns ...and stainless of course on the models that start with a 6 ....( but I have a heck of a time passing up a good deal if I wander across one ...which is why I have some duplicates now ...and will still buy more model 27-2's especially when or if they show up in great condition in Nickel)...:D

but I may order another Freedom Arms to match the one I had made in .357 mag a few years ago ....but this new one will probably be in .44 Mag...( 4 3/4" Octagonal barrel, model 83, Premier grade, large frame, 5 shot, full action job with trigger set at 3.25 lbs and green fibre optic front sight and adj rear sight....

my .357 mag....Freedom Arms....

I love all (well most) S&W revolvers, especially the older "pinned and recessed" ones, and there are several that I still want to own (like a registered magnum, or a 3" M27).

But I think I got it right with the second handgun I ever purchased after turning 21. It was a 5" M625 45 ACP with a patridge front sight, satin (brushed?) stainless with laser etching on the barrel. I had custom Herret wood stocks on it and a FANTASTIC trigger job by a genius gunsmith that has since left the business (he now makes expensive and VERY nice custom knives). It was my bowling pin gun and general target/range gun for a few years and seemed like it wouldn't miss any target, if I did my part, and I shot literally 10s of thousands of rounds through it. It was nearly a perfect "dream wheelgun" for me.

Of course, being young and dumb, I eventually traded it towards a Wilson Combat 1911. One of the worse decisions I ever made. I loved the Wilson and carried it daily for over a decade, but I SURE wish I had that 625 back. She was a keeper.

Live and learn.

Ruger Black Hawk .44mag 3 Screw

This has been with me now for many years.
The scope is Leupold the Holster was made for me by Rusty Sherrick, he is a top notch leather man, I love it. Take a deer every season with this gun and plan on it for many years to come.

Can't forget my Para-Ordinance 1911 in a vintage Lewis holster

Maker Colt
Model Richards type I 1860 Army Conversion.
Barrel length 5 1/2"
Finish blue, CCH
Sights regulated for 25 yards
Grips Ivory
Caliber 44 Colt

This is my "close enough" gun..

Well, I have one of them, the Lipsey's / Ruger Flattop .44 Special.

But I've always dreamed of a custom single action that has an action like silk, a trigger like glass and one hole at 60 yards capability. Deep charcoal blueing, a band on the 5 1/2" barrel and a few more small touches and all my earthly desires would be fulfilled.

I still dream of a Ruger GP100 snubby with a 7 chamber cylinder (there's plenty of room), a 2.5" factory ported barrel (If Taurus can do it, Ruger can certainly do it), and fully adjustable sights. What a perfect replacement it would be for the now defunct Security 6 and S&W Model 19/66 snubbies.

3" S&W Model 627, Except in 327 Magnum

I have the 2.5" Model 627, which is a beautiful stainless with 8 round capacity. Would love to have this same revolver, but in 327 Magnum. Maybe they could fit 9 or 10 in the cylinder if it was 327 mag, but I'd still want it if they could only fit 8.
