Do you guys tend to stick to the same calibers?

My first three were .40 S&W. I did a lot of research on what caliber to buy when I purchased my first handgun. After that I thought, why do I want to have more than one type of round needed for any of my guns.

Then I bought the .45 acp. I am hooked and now have more ammo stockpiled for my one .45 than I do for my three .40s!

I generally stick with what I have dies, bullets and brass for. Sometimes I step outside that, like my recent 41 mag. I gotta figure those items into the cost of a gun. Besides, with 9mm, 38/357, 10mm, 41mag, 44 spl/mag 45 acp and colt, there aint much room. That's why I hesitate with the 9x18.

I have reached the point where I have formed a personal preference for a certain round as my favorite handgun round. I have several firearms which shoot that round. I find that I shoot one of those firearms more than the others. I have them so that I could discover which was my preference. I choose not to sell the others.

I have firearms that shoot .22lr, 380acp, 38spl, 357mag, 9mm para, 40S&W, 10mm auto, 44spl, 44mag, 45acp, 45 L Colt, and 454 Casull.

After firing tens of thousands of round in various handguns, I have found I prefer the 10mm auto for most but not all handgun shooting.

Well, in the last few years I seem to gravitated more towards handgun shooting so its not surprising that most of my time these days is spent shooting .45acp, .40sw and 9mm. I probably shoot more 9mm than anything else due to costs.

I like to buy different calibers - .38, .357, 9mm, .40 S&W, .45ACP, .22lr, 30-06, .30 carbine. Tend to shoot the 9mms and .22lrs the most followed by the .30 carbine.

Also shoot 12 ga. shotguns for trap.
