Do you guys tend to stick to the same calibers?

variety

I'm a gun nut, I feel that I need to have experience with as many calibers and actions as I can. For years I stuck to what ever gun's ammo was most affordable, but that changed. There's just too many that I like. I don't have a LDA from Para nor a .357 sig nor a 10mm , but would like to. I traded off my only .40 and .32 calibers which left me with 8 other popular caliber variants in hand guns.
In rifles I shoot 9 different calibers.
In shotguns I have stayed true to the 12 ga. only in pumps, that makes me think I may need to get an auto-matic.

What I stick to

22LR- 32 acp-380acp- 38 special-357 mag-357 sig -9mm- 40 S&W- 10mm-45 acp ...........Ten thats a good round number

the differance

i agree that all the same calibers would be boring.
also as i dont reload im restricted to wally world selection for shooting or paying double ww prices at the range
so far...
ruger sp101 in ss...38spl
m&p 340 in 357/38 spl
SA EMP 9mm
S&W sigma in 9mm
XD 40 cal
XD 45 cal
Para SSP 45 cal

p.s. dont tell the wife:cool:

When you first start out, it's not unusual for your first gun to be in one caliber and your second gun to be in another caliber. Nor it is unusual for someone to buy two guns of the same caliber. I think it's a 50-50 split with the first 2 guns.

I think most of us will buy at least one gun in a popular caliber and then, perhaps after buying guns in other desired calibers, buy another gun in one of the popular calibers.

My first handgun was a 9mm. The next was a .357 Mag. After that it was another .357 Mag. Then a .41 Mag. Then several .38's and .357's. Then it was a .45 auto... Eventually you satisfy the "urge" for certain guns or calibers then decide to buy something odd - a .32 or .44 - for fun because you have the "need" guns taken care of.

22.lr 38 special 40 sw. try to make life simple .32 for seecamp  don't need a locker full of different calibers.

the above locker full looks better to me with one caliber per locker (full) :)
2 lockers for the .22 lr and one each for .45acp 12 guage .223 is the goal

I have mostly stuck to 9mm lately, although I did pick up a .380 LCP recently.

I am looking to add a .45. to the mix which consists of .22lr, .38 Special, .380 and 9mm. I have bought 3 more 9mm pistols during the past 10 months.

As for the .45, I was thinking about a Rock Island "tactical" model to start with, but I think I'm just gonna save up for a Dan Wesson CBOB

IMO, it's a PITA to stock various calibers, and I feel inadequate when needing to hoard different calibers.

I stick with .45ACP, primarily. I make an exception for 10mm because of it's great ballistics. Otherwise, I want to just buy 300rds of .45ACP and know that all my handguns can use it.

I've been dabbling in rifles lately, and, to be honest it's a pain to stock 7.62x39, 7.62x51 and 5.56x45....

They all burn holes in my wallet :(.

Im getting old now and I still have'nt owned or shot all the calibers.

A 45 acp and a 44 magnum are on my list to buy even if it makes no sense to the 'bookkeeper side' of my brain.

Life is simply too short to limit yourself to just a few calibers.

I guess it's all relative.

I have .22, .380, 9mm, and .357. I intend to replace the .45 I sold a while back. Eventually I'll add a .44 mag. But so far, I've not been tempted to add others like .32, .40, .41, etc.

I stick to mostly 9's, foremost because of cost. I enjoy shooting .45 a lot too, but can't afford to shoot it as often.

Nope, not me

.36 revolver
9mm Pistol
.45 pistol
.22 pistol

Now, if I had to save let's say one pistol from a fire...as much as I love my numbers matching WWII relic P.38, I would rescue my 1911A1 .45 ACP

Not me. I like 'em all. I dont let caliber limit my choices in handguns. If I did, I wouldn't own this:

Or this:

I pretty much stick to .22, .380 acp, .38 spc, 9mm, .357 Sig, .357 Mag, .40S/W, .45 acp, .44 mag... That's all I need.
