Do you guys tend to stick to the same calibers?

I didn't when I got started, but I have consolidated and it plays a factor in my purchases.

Main: handgun - 357/38, 9mm, 45acp, 22lr. I sold 32acp, 9mm Mak, 44mag. 380acp.

I have others firearms in various calibers but they are heirlooms not really shot often.

I am looking for a sub-compact carry gun in 9mm - looks like a Kahr MK9. I dislike poly guns.

Not really, although I bought a lot of 1911s lately ( all .45 ) I also bought a HK4 .380, a P-38, Mako .17 HMR, 642, SP101, ect. If I buy something in a caliber I don't already own, I just buy a set of dies for it.

Not really.

I have multiple .22 long rifles and handguns.

I have two different .223 Rem rifles.

All the others are different, a few were bought just because I couldn't pass up the great deal I was getting.

I do get all giddy some times with all the new and existing rifle calibers. I try to tell myself, "What do you need that for? You all ready have something that trumps it." Then you weigh in the cost to fire X amount of different calibers.
This is a sickness to me called FRUGALITY. I'm trying to overcome it.

I am planning on buying a 1911 this year however, second .45 for me.

Yes. I've been around the caliber block and have been returning to the basics.
Auto pistols--primarily .45acp, with a 9mm or two and the lone .380
Revolvers--.357, .45acp, .45 Colt and (recently added) .41 Mag

My semi-autos are mostly 9mm with a couple 45's and a couple 380's. My revolvers are all 357/38 with the exception of my Ruger New Vaquero which is 45 colt. :)

I do have a couple oddball guns, one 9x18 and one 7.62 Nagant. The 9x18 has only had about 100 rounds put through it by me and the 7.62 Nagant I have never fired.

I like every gun I see for some reason. I shoot a colt gov. 45acp , Python 357/38 , Diamondback 38 , also S&W 357/38 , S&W 44 mag colt .380 -several .22's in Bearcat, H&R Sportsman, S&W 34, 10, Diamondback. Different length barrels in blue , SS, and nickel. So you can see I like a variety.

I had a .22 mouse gun and 9mm subcompact that I sold and I currently own a .40 full size and a .380 PPK replica. I'll get a .45 sooner or later. What's the point of collecting guns if you don't have any variety?

Well, I only own a 9mm and a 40 S&W, but I can see myself being a "caliber whore" as my collection grows. I like variety–not necessarily oddball calibers, but the "standard" ones like 38 Spl, 357 Mag, 45 ACP, etc etc.

I'm not sure. yes, I usually buy guns in calibers I already own.But that's not real hard my ammo shelves have more variety than most Sporting goods stores:o (before they all ran out)

I'm all over the place: :)

Pistols:
.22, .32, .38/357, 9mm, .40, .45acp, .45 colt

Rifles:
.22, .38/357, .45 colt, .243, .30-06, 7.62x39

I haven't stuck to just one or two calibers but I do make an effort to not get terribly "spread out" in terms of the number of different calibers I have.

Oh course .22LR . That is a given. Then there is .357/.38Spec, .44Mag/.44Spec, and .45 Colt. Currently enjoying .45 Colt the most. Reload for all three. I don't see myself going beyond the 4 calibers as these four will do what ever needs done. Load heavy, load light.... Whatever is needed....

In rifle, .22LR, 30-30, and 30-06.

Yea I usually do stick to the same caliber but that has more to do with ammo cost than any personal preference. 9mm just is cheaper than 45.
