Break in period necessary??

Why are their companys like cylinder @slide doing custom work on firearms to make them reliable.Example kahr .and 1911.'s.these are not CHEAP GUNS to some people.

My Beretta Tomcat .32acp most definitely needed a break-in period.

When I first purchased it several years ago, I couldn't shoot more than 2-3 rounds before it would FTE or FTF. However, the gun dealer I purchased it from warned me ahead of time that these particular guns had that problem, so I wasn't too surprised.

After suffering through about 100 rounds, it got to the point where it is 100% reliable. I've had maybe one failure in the past 3-4 years since then.

well, i don't know about you, but i depend on my guns to save my life. i would no sooner carry any gun without putting several hundred rounds through it that i would jump into a brand new Ferrari and go racing. both you and the machine need time to settle into each other. Mr. Seecamp i am sure builds a fine pistol. i do not own one, but none the less. but, it is still a mechanical device. and any mechanical device can be made impropperly.i do not care whether it is a Seecamp, a Ferrari, or a Holland and Holland double. people that build them make mistakes. not very often, but it happens. my life probably is not worth much (financially) but to my kids, it IS the whole world. so, i will be "breaking in" anything before i trust my life on it!
