Best wheelgun you ever had?

For me..Hands down the pair of early 60's Colt Officer Model Match Target revolvers my father had and I put hundreds of rounds through.
One in 38 spcl and an identical twin in 22LR.

Deep blue, silky action, just beautiful firearms that I miss deeply.

CWKahrFan S&W 586 .357 6" barrel... Full lug... Shooting .38's feels like shooting .22's.

I agree, that's a great revolver...actually it is my 2nd favorite S&W
K-38 combat Masterpiece my 1st S&W fav

Ruger GPNY .38spl DA only stainless steel(NIB)...

In 2006, I purchased a new/never fired Ruger GPNY 4" barrel .38spl stainless steel wheel gun. I paid $425.00 USD ;).
It was in a AL warehouse/gun shop locker for approx 14 years. A FFL holder found it & posted the revolver online. I needed a solid carry/duty weapon for armed security work so I purchased the GPNY. The Ruger documents stated the firearm was made directly for the NYPD & it rolled off the factory floor in 1991.
I replaced the standard Ruger GP grips with a great Hogue Tamer series rubber mono-grip. The DA only spurless action was smooth & crisp.
I used the then new Speer Gold Dot 135gr +P JHPs & the respected Buffalo Bore 158gr lead SWC-HP +P(also called the Chicago Load or the FBI load).
I had to sell the Ruger war-horse about 2.5 years later. It was banged up & scratched a bit from duty use & I needed the $$$ but I'd hold onto it if I could.
It was a rare gem you don't come across often in the shooting sports industry.

A Ruger redhawk 41 mag . WISH I HAD IT BACK !!!!
Taurus 94 ,22lr. was darn nice little revolver .

'Best' depends on the application. But for me, my S&W 10-7 sure ranks up there. It has a 6" tapered pencil barrel (pinned of course) and wears diamond target stocks. Best of all is the amazing smooth, silky trigger on that gun. Terrific in both single action and double action. I have revolvers that I paid a lot more money for, but this Model 10 has the best trigger of all of them.

Always wanted to own a Python and an Anaconda.
If I kept the Officers Model Match Target revolvers it would have been a nice lineage collection.

Close call. I am attached to my S&W K-22 5-screw, because it's beautiful, it's my birth-year gun, and it's probably my most accurate handgun. But the best has to be my 25-2. It's breathtaking. Balance, accuracy, looks, no other revolver can beat it.

I've got a pretty 5-screw K-22 and a matching K-38. I've got a Bill Davis-built PPC revolver. I've got other revolvers. But I'm lucky - my best is my first - my first handgun, in fact, a 4" S&W 686. Bought it the same day I bought it's understudy (a 617 .22LR; my 2nd fav). IL be damned, I went to my LGS and bought them new in '07, then shot them 'til I could shoot 25 yard cloverleafs. Eventually I tuned the 686 and started competing in '09 with it, and together, we're now knocking on the door of a national title. It's smooth, fast, and accurate, with nary a hitch. Gawd, I love that gun. After 70k+ rounds, the barrel's showing signs of wear, but even when shot out and retired, it'll likely remain my favorite. As they say, you never forget your first. ;)

My 686...

I'd have to say my 4" Model 28. It was my issue service revolver which I carried most of my 20 years in LE and they gave me when I retired.

Not as fancy as my Model 27, but there is just something about it.

I've killed several moose at traffic accidents and a buffalo. It also makes one heck of a bowling pin gun.

Using 150 gr LSWC and 14.5 grs of 2400, I wouldn't be afraid to tackle most anything.

We've been through a lot together over the years, just something special about it.

Ya know Kraig, having that 28 on your hip for 20 years had to have made an inseparable bond between you and that girl.
I truly can understand your reasoning!

Best wheel gun you ever had?

Tough question. My favorite wheel gun is a 4" Colt Diamondback in 22LR. I have owned numerous Colts and it is tough not to choose one of those as the "best" because I believe they are generally better than a comparable S&W. ;)

But I will have to say that my best is probably my 8 3/8" M57 (41 mag) because of the larger caliber revolvers I have, I shoot it the best.
