Best movie for revolvers?

Speaking of cop shows from the eighties, I have been catching some of the TJ Hooker reruns lately. It is Hokie and very unrealistic at times but mildly entertaining. What I really like is all of the revolvers in every episode. The shows are packed with revolver action. Hookers primary is a colt four inch, maybe a python? I have seen smiths and colts of all sizes and finishes from both bad guys and good guys. Duty leather is the old break front style. Bad guys typically expend their six rounds while officers typically get it done without reloads so not a lot of speed loader action.

Payback with Mel Gibson as well as the original, Point Blank with Lee Marvin are both good movies for revolvers (particularly if you like 4" N-Frame Smiths). Death Hunt with Charles Bronson and Lee Marvin also has some good revolvers in it but it's best for those who like vintage rifles (Bronson uses a Savage 99 while Marvin uses a Krag carbine IIRC).

Ok I have an unconventional one how about the newer movie FASTER starring the Rock Dwayne Johnson. It’s a pretty unrealistic movie but one of the few that incorporates a Ruger Alaskan revolver in .454 Casull. The gun gets quite a bit of show time in the movie too. As for the best I’ll go with everyone else and say the Clint Eastwood flicks.

IIRC, Fred Dryer carried a compensated H&K P9L in Hunter.

Revolver movies for me:
Open Range
The Outlaw Josey Wales
Dirty Harry
and sequels
any of the spaghetti westerns
any of the old Sherlocke Holmes movies (Watson! Bring your service revolver!)

Ultimate revolver movie

"Fistful of Dollars", of course, and "Good, Bad and the Ugly" for so many reasons.

"The Professional" - The bad guy Gary Oldman plays nonchalantly swings around and fires a pretty hefty snubnose (686 or 629?) that always catches the eye. Much nicer gun that the semi-autos Jean Reno uses.

For TV, FBI profiler Dr. Reed on Criminal Minds carries a revolver, in a belt holster that was apparently designed to protect his appendix from incoming rounds ... he's portrayed as a nerd, has somehow gotten dispensation from the agency to carry a wheel gun and has killed a few baddies ...

Classic opening scene in Sharky's Machine has the pimp wreak mayhem with two (!) concealed carry Model 29's. Sharky (Burt Reynolds) also carries a revolver through about the first half, then switches to a Colt Commander.

Leathel wealon 3 murtaugh switchex to or stsrted carrying a smith 3913 (I think) bjt some kknd of smith auto as a second or back up in a galco, hanging right ovrr his K frame.

LA Cknfadential is one of.my favorites ever, lots of good gun use and handleing, ractical and realistic.fkr the period.

Mulholland Falls was another great one, one scene Mike Madson emptys a nes service tosses it aside and draws a det specal from an ankle holster, one nNick Nolte straps a dec special ankle.rig on. Also the most screen time a flat sap.has ever seen lol

to the person who posted about the original (tim burton) Batman movie, the Joker used a .357 mag 18 inch buntline to shoot down the batwing, and yeah that is pretty awesome and should at least be metioned for best revolver movies.

In 48 hours doesn't Nick Nolte and/or the bad guy have an N frame Smith, .45 Colt maybe? Speaking of which, if Harry Callahan only used .44 specials, why wouldn't he have just had an N frame .45 Colt?

In 48 Hours, Nolte has a .44 Mag 4" M29 taken from him by the Bad Guy. Nolte then retrieves his other gun from home, a .45 Colt Government 1911.

First off,.sorry for my horrible typing last night.

Chuck Norris did carry a 6" 629 in both Lone Wolf McQuaide and the earlier seasons of walker. I heard, not verifyied, that t was the same revolver both tikes and one he owned personally. He is a big gun collector and competative shooter for those who didnt know.

For anyone who remembers the "88 Magnum" from Johnny Dangourusly, I owe you a beer once, ONCE

Another little known or remembered gem from the 80s, City Heat. Clint Eastwood and Burt Rynolds have a wewrhouse gun fight with the gangster bad guys and keep one upping each other with guns they pull from trench coats. Its hilarious

Incorrect. Nolte was given the .45 from somebody at his precinct, and he put the gun into the same holster as his .44 had been in and it magically fit.

Blue Steel starring Jamie lee Curtis. Revolver **** in that one. Curtis has a model 10 and the killer uses a gorgeous model 29.
