Best, cheapest gun

I bought a Daewoo DP51 (9mm) some years ago for $225. I kept it and sold it five years later for $200. I wish I'd kept it and never sold it. It fit my hand perfectly, was easy to shoot, accurate, and had a slick double action and safety system. It outshot guns costing twice to three times as much.

most inexpensive i found was a friend's LNIB NAA guardian .380, he shot half a box and hated it, sold it to me for @200.00. I've fired over 300 rds though it and nary a bobble!!!

Back in the 80s and 90s I bought several model 29s and 629s brand new for $325.

In the late 90s, I bought a stainless Colt 1991 for $410. I also bought a stainless Randall back then for $439. I considered both good buys. And I bought a used Taurus .44 magnum for about $325 back then and a Super Blackhawk for $350.

They were all really good guns.
At a flea market I bought a brand new model 60 Chief .357 for $310 and when the model 66 was discontinued I bought a nice one for $325 when I noticed the prices of them was going up.
Back in the mid nineties one of my buddies was getting into shooting and he bought a .357 stainless blackhawk for $245.

Somewhat Ironically....

My second cheapest gun I've ever bought was a mint condition Ruger Security Six for $225....That's of course BEFORE they started going higher than S&W's.

The 2nd cheapest and absolutely a great gun. A better gun than the $325 S&W 1917, $250 Colt 1917,etc.etc.

This year... Llama 1911 9mm Commander for $225. Charter Arms .38 Special for $200.... barely shot.

Don't laugh y'all, but it was a Jennings J 22 for $39.95. I bought four of them back in the eighties. I kept two, then traded them off later. Regrettably, I just paid $70 for another one ANIB. Just like the others, it works fine.
Mine has become reliable enough to say that it jams less than 10% of the time through 100 rounds, and as long as the ammunition doesn't fail is guaranteed (100%) to fire the first twenty one rounds fired through it after being cleaned (Three mags+ a chamber top off)
But you didn't hear that here.
Unfortunately, everyone is looking for their favorite sow's ear to convert to a silk purse, and pretty soon the words quality and cheap will part ways. Those nice pistols in 9x18 and .30 Tokarev are going to go up in price. Hi Point's are gaining in popularity. Literally the only thing that will be left is the scrapings at the bottom of the barrel:p
The Jennings (Bryco, and Jimenez) 22 at least to me is aggravatingly the most fun I have with a pistol. I mean look at it: They are tossed around, beat up, neglected, mistreated and unloved... then they leave the factory. After that it goes down hill.

Mosin Nagant for $80 about a month and a half ago.

Also, carguychris, the Nagant can also fire .32H&R mag, which is about as powerful as .38spl

Traditons BP .50 with a scope and starter kit $40.00 and a NAA mini .22lr for $45.00 Winchester 94 30-30 for $100.00 Marlin mod 60 for $40.00 and a Astra Constable for $75.00 I get frequent flyer miles at my local gunshop:D:D

Best deal I ever got was a second hand 2.25" Ruger SP101 .357 for $250, about two years ago. Wasn't looking to buy a gun when I stopped into my dealer's place, but there it was; hadn't been there more than a couple of hours. Funny how it followed me home.

Basically any gun in 9x18, they're all well-made and reliable. With the exception of the rather collectable Soviet-made and German-made Makarovs, they're pretty dang affordable, even the post-Soviet Russian Maks don't break the bank.

The CZ-82's are top on the list. But I would also consider FEG-JPK-9HP, I have bought a few used around $200 to $300. The early FEG-JPK-9HP were 100% Browning HP parts compatible. The newer versions were 99% compatible with changes in the slide stop. They are comie block steel, extremely durable, reliable and parts are common and available. My Browning HP sits in a safe the FEG's get abused and keep eating everything I feed them and are more accurate than I will ever be. I consider them to be some of the buys out there as far as accuracy, parts, durability. Just my .02,
Mike

Purchased a Ruger Mk II, Stainless, 10" bull barrel on the net two years ago for $269. I have wanted one of these for years. I put a near mirror polish on the entire gun and added Pachmayr grips and an Uncle Mikes' holster. No, it's not for sale. Funnest gun to shoot on the planet. Nothing else even comes close. A true tack driver, literally. I'm drooling even now.

I traded for a like new Hi-point for a metal detector a couple of nights ago. It isn't as blocky as people think and is actually kind of neat. I have to test it to find out the reliability but my son in law has one and is very happy with it. I carried it to Avondale for SD today and I didn't worry about scratching it.

It isn't as blocky as people say? LoL, good one! Hey, if it works for you then it's a good thing but the slide feels like it weighs 3# all by itself and it's the size of a 2x4.
