Best, cheapest gun

I think alot of you guys either didnt read the OP's post or at least have add and thought it was time for ice cream! i like ice cream too,but ill answer the OP's question first. Some people got it right also :)

What's the best, cheapest purchase you ever made on a hand gun?
My best and cheapest happened on a day i wasn't looking to buy a gun or could even afford it.But i was just standing around Ganger Mtn one day drooling and bumping into things i couldn't afford.I overheard a guy talking to a clerk wanting to sell his gun back to them he bought there as he took his CHL test with it and wanted a good caliber for ccw.
He wanted $160 and they was saying not even close if he wanted cash,it was a S&W .22a
I said id pay it and ran to the bank across the street and bought it in the parking lot.Thats legal in OHIO btw.
Put a $30 red dot on it i stupidly paid $55 for and its too much fun for words.
100% reliable for a rimfire which is amazing,it will get lite strikes if i dont keep it very clean tho.It gets 70% of my range time and i have 3 other guns to shoot.

The best cheapest guns I've bought have been my Bulgarian Makarov ($200) and my FEG PJK-9HP ($225 and it has BEAUTIFUL bluing and its accurate and reliable as you can get!)

If you throw in long guns its hard to beat a Russian M44 for about 85 bucks. It shoots dead on and shoots much more accurately than it has any right to.

My favorite bargain is by far my K31 Swiss. For $235 bucks it is one sweet shooting rifle. The action is super smooth. The trigger is beautiful and I would think any critter within 200 yards would be in serious trouble it I was after it with my Swiss rifle in hand. If you don't have a K31 you are doing yourself a serious injustice.

best deals?

I picked up an SKS about 5 years ago from a pawn shop for $85. The bluing was a little worn but really the glaring issue was the giant "Daniela" carved in the stock.

I bought my Glock 31 w/night sites and 7 hi-cap mags for $300. It was used but you could barely tell.

Gotta go with the Hi Points...They are a good gun, stand up to a beating, and pretty darn accurate! Have a HP 9mm I would not trade (except maybe for an xD!)

CZ-82: No brainer. Cost vs Quality; one of the best. I would also throw the FEG PA-63, also in 9mm Makarov in the list. I could get a 454 or 460 for $300 and people would say that's a great price. But if I have to spend $50 for a box of ammo of 20 rounds, that would be stupid. Unless I bought it for a very specific purpose and didn't shoot it often. The 9mm makarov, is a no brainer because:

a) There are 3-4 high quality weapons out there (CZ-82 ALL STEEL being the best in quality) for a price tag of around $200.
b) And the ammunition can be found easily, available, and inexpensive for less than $10 a box of 50. Yes, most times it's online orders, but it's very available. (Self defense rounds can be found in most gun stores).

But the CHEAPEST, BEST handgun I ever bought was a SigSauer P220 45acp; West German manufacture; for $200. But that isn't a "Normal" price that people can buy a gun for. But there is no doubt, a 12 round, CZ-82 for the $190 I paid for it; WITH an extra magazine, and the availability and price of ammo, is definitely #1 on the list.

The very cheapest gun I ever bought is easily one of my favorites. Picked up a Mosin M44 for $79, a few nicks in the stock but an absolutely beautiful bore. So much fun to shoot, and such solid construction and unquestionable dependability, that it makes me feel like I got far, far more than what I paid for.

I would have to say my 9mm Sigma. I checked reviews here first and made sure to get the newer "ve" series and it's a great gun so far. For $300 I haven't seen anything close.

That's a real gun tho as far as the cheapest and funnest, That goes to my $160 Ruger mk1. I know for a fact my buddies and I have put at LEAST 5000 rounds thru it and as long as she's clean she still goes POP.

This Colt Woodsman Match Target set me back $75...it was a few years ago.

Texas Dept. of Corrections Smith 65-2 pinned and recessed for $187 OTD.
Buttery smooth DA and will tear the bullseye out of the target.

I don't own either, but have spent a lot of time shooting both and it's hard to discount either the Smith and Wesson Sigma or the Ruger P-95. If I needed a new gun and was on a budget, either of those would fit the bill very well.

Smith and Wesson model 66 for $325. Awesome gun, worth hundreds more. I also love my little model 60 for the same price. Both look like they have never been fired.
