Best 9mm

Since you said you don't like Glock (you really should try one), I'll say the Sig P226. I think the Seals still use them and they can use whatever they want.

CZ-75, which is basically an improved HP, except that HP does
seem to have a bit more comfortable grip. Recently, I was very impressed by Glocks, particularly the ones with modified trigger.
SIG is O.K. too, although pricey, but no better than CZ or HP in accuracy department. Walter 99 is O.K. design, but really nothing special to talk about. Never liked HK USP - too expensive for no reason, and has awful trigger, DA is just ridiculous, SA is only so-so, and magazines are super expensive. Rugers are good guns., but too plain - will take one but only free of charge...

I'd have to add to the calls for the CZ 75B and the P95 Ruger. Both have been extremely accurate for me, with the Ruger being the real surprise here. (I expected the CZ to be accurate.) No failures of any type with either pistol.

Thanks for all the replys...you've given me some things to think about.

For all you Glock fans...sorry but I've owned three Glock pistols and I was unimpressed...they are reliable and will shoot anything but they just don't fit me right I couldn't hit with them at all

Browning HP sure looks nice and feels good...leaning toward that one so far the SIGS are really nice tho

If you like the BHP, check out the CZ-75SA

The BHP is a great classic gun, but it is expensive and needs trigger work to be satisfactory. Look into the CZ-75SA - good single action trigger out of the box, very mild recoil, almost "match grade" accuracy, excellent construction quality, has design elements from the top of the line Sig P210 - all for a Ruger price. If the grip suits you, I think you'll find it incredibly easy to shoot well.
If you can, try dry firing a BHP and the CZ-75SA side by side, and look at how the slide rails are setup on the CZ and the BHP.

cliche'-ville...

Hands down best, best in show, if money is no object, unquestionably, only-a-fool wouldn't get this gun, definitely the most accurate, number one out of the box and beyond compare accuracy with no adjustments and completely reliable 110% of the time, no malfs after 75,000,000 rounds, best value, greatest big-small pistol by the most brilliant designer in the history of firearms...

is a....

Well I'll be damned. There ain't no such thing...

I guess I'm about as much help as everybody else :)

But since you can't get one of the ones described here (or in the rest of this thread) you might as well get a Beretta :D:D:D

If money is no object than a Sig 210.

For value than a CZ-75 either B or BD

For general use, than a Sig 226, or 228.

Well went to my local gun shop today and was talked into a purchase (not real hard !!!).....bought a Springfield 1911-A1 Milspec ...very nice piece

Still thinking of looking for a 9 at the gun show this weekend but not sure I need it now

This 1911 really shoots..put 150 rounds thru it today and I am VERY impressed....:) :) :) :)

Best 9mm overall:

#1 H&K P7 (PSP)
#2 H&K P7M8
#3 H&K P7M13

Best value for money:#1 Refurbished H&K P7M8 ($500-$700)
#2 Used H&K P7's
#3 CZ-75

Though the Browning Hi-Power, and Sig P210's are no slouches either. I consider the Sig to be out of the realm of normal handguns. And a Browning Hi-Power should be a custom gun (remove the cursed magazine safety). Thus those two are out of the running.

This of course presumes you want the gun to do everything you'll likely need it for. CCW, Targets, IPSC, IDPA. As a military handgun, the P7 is eclipsed by several other designs.

I went through the searches and handling and some shooting and ended up with a Glock G19. I also have a Kel-Tec P-11.

Sig 239
Sig 229
Walther P99
Smith 3913

Hi-Powers are nice, but in my opinion overpriced. I picked up a 2-tone BDM a couple of years ago for under $300 and I love it. Sadly, the model is out of production, but is occasionally seen at shows.

SigPros are cheap right now. I like mine. Got it new for $400. Downside is no high-caps for such a big gun.

HK P7 its my carry i also like the USPc
and the Sig 226.....the best varies upon
your needs and finances.
Novak P-35?...Sig 210?....P7M13?

Yeah ok. All you wundernine people have chimed in. Now, It's time for a reality check. Best 9mm. Walther P5. Hands down!!!! :p
