Hello All
I am going to a gun show on 4/13 and thinking about getting a 9mm....just curious what all of you would recommend as "the best"....no Glocks tho I am not a Glock fan

Thanks

H&K USPf.
or Browning Hi power
or Springfield 1911a1
or Insert well made gun here.

see what fits your hand best, has sights that line up naturally, and you can afford. Asking a board of gun enthusiasts will only get you answers that add up to "buy one of each, and maybe some spares just in case"

BTW My preference is the H&K. If your a blued steel fan the Browning.

My vote

For the money I can't see how you can beat the CZ. I have two and the wife just ordered one. I have never had a problem with any of mine in over 2000 round each.

hands down, the Browning HP. CZ is ok, and there are a raft of others out there. The High Power though, has set the standard for many years, and has not been bested yet.

Lots of good guns out there. Beware of the magic sword syndrome!

The 9mm I carry as a bug is the Kahr P9. Nothing wrong with the advice you have got or will get. You pick what you like. Then go to skul.

Whatever you get, get the night sights, plenty of mags and ammo for it. Then buy 3 more just like it.

Even if you are not a Glock fan, IHMO, the G17 or G34 are the best 9x19s out there. After that my personal prefence would be a Browning Hi-power closely followed by the CZ 75. H-Ks, Sigs and Berettas are not to be sneezed at as well. The fact of the matter is that there are many great 9mms out there.

For me the best VALUE is the CZ75. It will hang with any 9mm on any battlefield. A little big for my concealed carry tastes as I proudly advocate the Snub Nose revolver for such needs.

Look on the inside of one. The things are just plain meaty and the design of the slide to fram fit ensures that the slide is fully mated inside of the frame which means great accuracy and safety in the event a bad round is fired off.

I would say the "best 9mm" is the one that fits you and your needs best. For me nothing fits my hand like a Browning Hi-Power, but I don't own one. I hate magazine disconnect safeties, and don't want a single action carry gun (personal preference). I can shoot a Beretta 92FS more accurately than any other 9mm, followed closely by Sig 9mm's, but they are rather large for carry and expensive (relatively speaking). I carry a G17, but only because of weight and capacity (I do not find Glocks to be very accurate, but they are utterly reliable). So "best 9mm" is in the eye of the beholder. But since I feel obligated to anwer your original question, I will vote Sig Sauer P210.

I only own one 9mm, My ruger p-95 with a preban Mecgar Mag eats anything and always goes bang. It is so much fun and so little perceived recoil that it is the weapon I used to teach my sons to shoot with. Alot to be said when you can start the kids out on a centerfire from the start.

Oh and by the way, the kids have better eyes and more steady hands than this old man and out shoot me everytime.

You ask an easy question. In my opinion, the two best are the Glock 19 and the Walther P99 (HK P7 series and Sig 226,8 and 9 are heavy, USP is OK, Beretta is big, don't know much about the CZ), and since you don't want a Glock, I'd take a good hard look at the Walther P99.

I have HK USP 9C and love it, but recently tried Browning HP and was really impressed. Very accurate and fun to shoot. If I buy another 9mm it will be HP.
