Are You Voting Republican Or Third Party This Year?

Tough one. Unfortunately there are many issues for me to consider, not just RKBA issues. If only there was a candidate I could actually believe in, even if it was an illusion.

I'll do what I have to to keep SKerry out of office. I may not like what that entails, but I don't like cleaning my toilet either. :(

Thanks for all of your responses!

There are those who are older and wiser than me, like Dennis, for example, who can make a great case for voting third party. Dennis has seen first hand what has happened to our rights over the last (I think he said) 50 years. I agree with a lot of what he has to say. The two party system has gotten us into the mess we find ourselves in now. No doubt about it.

That said, assuming the so-called AWB sunsets, I willing to give the Republicans ONE last chance to do the right thing by appointing and confirming pro-Second Amendment justices to the Supreme Court.

With the clearly conflicting Circuit Court opinions defining "the right of the PEOPLE to keep and bear arms," the Supreme Court may be finally forced to settle the issue. It is a no brainer that we don't need Kerry nominating justices during what could turn out to be a very crucial time in this country's history....

If we get screwed one more time by the Republicans, they will never get my vote again. Nor should they get yours...

An appeal to those in close States : Please vote for Bush ...
Solidly Bush States : Vote your conscience (as long as it isn't for the poodle).

All you Libertarians (et al)... why don't you get your heads out of the clouds (or a place somewhat darker) and join the Rep. Party ... get ACTIVE in it and try a take-over ... or at least give a shot at swaying them more our way.
Admittedly, the Reps. in their present form aren't so hot but they're a LOT better than the Dems. ... Sometimes they actually say something close to the right thing before their invertibrate condition is displayed.

Oh, I am "officially" a Republican ... but in my heart, I am an Anti-Federalist.

I have to respect those that vote their conscience but at the same time I can’t help but think they aren’t really helping anything. There is one exception to that. Those that live in a state that is overwhelmingly going to Bush have the luxury of voting for a third party candidate without impacting the ultimate winner. Lucky for me I live in Texas so I have that luxury also. Therefore my vote is most likely going to go to the constitution party.

I’m all for GWB if the AWB goes away. However, if it doesn’t I’m voting third party. Either way I don’t think my vote will matter. Unless there is a backlash from the general hatred of our democrat governor Rod Blogo, Kerry will take Illinois.

I seriously doubt that IL will go to GWB, but there are a LOT of people PO’d over the crap or governor is doing. So anything is possible.

If the AWB sunsets, I will happily vote for Bush.

If the AWB is re-authorized under Bush, I also believe he will lose, since he will alienate some of his core votes, and probably pick up NO votes for that, since the people that really want that are gonna vote for Kerry anyway (for example the freaks at that thousand mom march who were beating up a dummy of bush and carrying anti-bush signs). Also the past 3 rep. presidential candidates endoresed by the NRA won, (Reagan, GB1 the first time and GWB the first time) The past 2 not endoresed lost (GW1 the 2nd time and Bob Dole). The NRA is basing their endorsement on teh AWB sunset also.

I'm sure Bush and his advisors know this, which is why he is not pushing for AWB renewal.

but, if Kerry gets elected, its going to be really bad. He's a hardcore gun grabber, much worse than Clinton ever was.

I live in a thoroughly democratic state. There's no chance for Bush to win, so I'll be voting my conscience, which is 3rd party (Libertarian or Constitution)...

I shall vote as I am registered; Libertarian.

Insanity can be defined as doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

So true. Utah will be going to Bush in a handbasket, so I plan to vote for the Libertarian candidate. I'm SOOO sick of seeing the same thing happen no matter who is in office.

Guys, if enough of us vote Libertarian, it CAN make a difference. An election is not a horse race. Vote your mind.

Yeah. Like voting Libertarian over and over and expecting one to actually get elected. ;)

Yep. It can make a difference alright. Do you really think the Libertarians are taking votes away from the Democrats? Please, anyone who looks at the situation objectively can figure out the end result of what your proposing: President John Forbes Kerry

The problem I have with that is the assumption that Libertarians represent gun owners. I don't believe that. I think they represent Libertarians, wanting to vote that way no matter what it might mean to gun owners. In any case, how we vote as a group is not quantifiable. Gun control sure won't be one of the options on any exit polls.
