Are 1911s just a fad?

Tell y'all what. When the 1911 "fad" has passed, and you no longer want to be saddled with "yesterday's" guns please send them all to me. I need more "relics" to add to my collection. :D

Oh, the .45 version is only worth 10K because it was never in production. I would guess they would be priced around 2K if they had a regular run.

I can tell you that our household would buy two of those right away if they ever made it into production. Everybody needs an oil-dampered squeeze cocker in .45ACP...
 
This was a great thread, Ellery. I sure wish I had posted it! Looks like some people are getting a little to sensitive...
 
1911's just a fad...well, OF COURSE their popularity is just a fad...as is their 90-yr. production history...and their superior ergonomics...all a testament to the GENIUS of John M. Browning...can I get an "Amen", Brothers??? How 'bout ANOTHER "AMEN"?!?!?!....mikey357
