Anybody Carry A Revolver?

I don't own anything but revolvers, so if I'm going to carry something it has to be one. Until recently I carried a Smith & Wesson Model 12-2, Airweight, 38 Special.

That one has been retired to "safe queen" status, and these days I carry a Smith & Wesson 442, 38 Special.

Religiously, daily, it's not a decision it's a lifestyle in my opinion,

What else is there??????

.44Spec Bulldog when I carry concealed. .45 Colt Single Action when open carry in the woods.

I am an over-the-hill senior citizen, what else would you expect?

Ruger Blackhawk .44 Special, my American Express (Never leave home without it) gun.

I'll pocket carry a LCR .38 occasionally, usually when I don't feel like putting on pants (that have a belt). Light enough to carry in athletic shorts or sweat pants, or my robe on weekend mornings.

I'll also carry one in the field, a GP100 or Vaquero in .357, or a Redhawk in .44 if the 4 legged critters get big enough.

Most days, though, I carry an autoloader.

I carry a Chiappa Rhino 4" barrel in a Kangaroo Carry shoulder holster set to ride low over my belt. Cabana shirt conceals it nicely. I'm thinking on getting some long polo shirts. I'm also thinking on rotating the holster to the opposite side so it's not cross draw.

S&W 642-2 Airweight 38 sp.

I normally carry a 6 ounce 380, but I like revolvers better, so I carry one sometimes.

For a variety of reasons, I just (in the last three weeks) got rid of my only semi-autos (a pair of Glock 26's)....in favor of my wheel guns. So, now I carry a Ruger SP101 (2.25" barrel, 357 mag) as my primary EDC. I carry a K-frame S&W (3" Model 10) sometimes.

I've had about 16 different handguns in the last 4 - 5 years, both revolvers and semi-autos. I've hand loaded all my ammo for these, including 38 Spl, 357 mag, 9mm, 45 acp. I started with revolvers and 38 Special....and now I've come full circle back to them. I find that I just prefer loading 38/ 357.....and I prefer shooting and carrying revolvers. Many reasons for this, but I despise chasing brass - that is one big reason.

Alas, I'm old.....so I guess I'm just old-fashioned, too.

Note: These photos are not MY guns....they are only for illustration purposes. Many thanks to the photographers, whomever they are.

Question was asked about the holster I use when carrying my Smith & Wesson Model 19 2-1/2 inch revolver, in my initial post. It's a Kirkpatrick, with elk suede lining. I think they are still in Laredo, TX. Good, thick, saddle leather holster. I also have one of theirs for my Glock 23.
