All the ammo in Wal Mart, Academy, etc. is gone.

dang skippy

wally mart here in orlando has[had] some ammo too--bought three of the last five 45 blazer brass---wooooohooooooooo

Maybe we are seeing the beginnings of the ramp-up. I can only assume that the manufacturers have ramped-up production to meet the surge in demand.

I hope this means all the horders have ran out of room or money:) Maybe I can get back to the range, I have been sitting on my last 100 rounds because I couldn't find any anywhere around my house.

The mexican cartels have links to all the surplus ammo in russia and the rest of the third world. This guns and ammo flowing into mexico is BS except for a few isolated cases where they want higher quality weapons. Most of those the US gov't provided anyways. Look into how much military small arms we ship to mexico.

I didn't say weapons, I said ammo. Buying ammo in the USA and bringing it backwards into Mexico is likely easier than buying black market overseas. Do not know. Just a thought.

My local WalMart sporting goods sales person told me it won't be till May or June till they expect any .40 .45 or .223. I found 1000 rds of Federal 55gr FMJ 5.56 bulk for $400 at a local sporting goods store.

I have also bought the 100rd bulk pack of 9mm at Wally World and all I can say is that someone at Winchester can't count! I save all of my boxes and inserts so that I can put the bulk bullets in them and the last time I did that, I ended up with 1 extra bullet!

Talked to a Wal-mart employee today. He said that as soon as it comes in, it sells. He said that at least three times there were guys buying $400 to $1,000.00 worth of ammo at one go.

Yeah I've seen that same thing here at Academy in Texas (I work there). People get all pissy when we dont have ammo, but the individual stores do not control the inventory, the big corporate office does. .223 sells the same day we put it out on the shelf, regardless of how much there is. 7.62 lasts a big longer for whatever reason.

hahaha i love those 100 rd packs, i always get at least one extra, sometimes 2
Winchester SXZ 115gr 9mm Luger was at Bass Pro for the usual 12.99 a 50/pk, i got 3 of those and a box of Texas Heavy 12ga for 49.87 out the door, (my sister gave me a $50 gift card for Bass on my 21st, awesome way to spend it! lol)
Bass has no 100 round packs but tons of other 50 rd sleeves.

Has anyone considered that ammo is being bought in the U.S. and taken into Mexico to the criminals & Cartels? No check of any kind (other than age) to buy ammo, and if you look old enough no check at all most places.

Let's see... I have a fleet of airplanes and ships that I use to move tons and tons of my illegal product; but I am going to buy ammo at WalMart and smuggle it across the border box-by-box?

Call me nutty; but if I had that kind of logistical capacity (and the money that comes with it), I would be buying shipping containers of ammo direct from the Russians or Chinese.

That's what some dim wit anti-firearm nuts are trying to pass off as a the great Mexican gun and Ammo. trail from the USA to MegEco. Bull dumpings it's being shipped into Mexico from other Countries. The Mexican Military is being paid off as always and it's always going to be this way.;)

HG:

For the life of me, I can't comprehend the logic that leads one to infringe our constitutional rights to appease illeagalities in another country.

I did my part to stop the Mexican drug cartels from buying up our ammo. Went to Meijers(chain store similar to Wally World). In locked ammo case was UMC 45acp 230gr. ball ammo and the price on the little card $4.95/box. Nineteen boxes in locked ammo case and what they had in back( two full cases) went home that day. Didn`t want drug people to end up with this.;)
