Age of your hunting rifle.

It depends on what I am hunting. For squirrel or rabbit it wis either my 2 year old 10/22, my 1960's Remington 1996, or a 2002 Rossi .410 shotgun. I know some people who will have a contest to see who can kill the most rabbits using a .22 or .22 Mag revolver, and I have a 2004 Heritage Rough rider in both cartridges but I think the chances of making a bad hit and causing the animal to suffer are to great. For deer or larger animals it depends on the season and size of deer I have been scouting. For them I either use a 2012 Savage model 11 in 270, 2011 Mossberg 500 in 20 gauge or Mossy 535 in 12 gauge. I will smack the occasional stray cat, rat, or mice along with pest birds with any air rifle I have in town,, I have a Mini 14 in 223/5.62 that I bought last year, but I use it mostly for practice. It is overkill for the small game and I want more power for the larger game. It is more a self defense/EOTWAWKI gun for protection against 2 legged predators or pinking although I might not totally rule it out for hog hunting in the future if the conditions allow for a clean kill shot.

What I'm hunting and who I'm hunting with has a lot to do with what I take, but the oldest rifle I have ever taken on a hunt is an original Mod. 88 trapdoor springfield rifle in .45-70. Mostly because the people I was going with kept saying it couldn't hit anything at any kind of range.
They were wrong, got a fair sized mule deer a bit under 110 yards that year.

A 40 ish year old Parker hale Mauser chambered in 30-06, it was given to me by a family friend but it does have the older vintage rifle look even having a decent walnut stock. Unlike the ones cheaper guns made today

mine is less than a year old. however, I could just as easily break out my 114 year old war horse and take it out since I'm pretty much done with serious hunting until elk season.

1932 for my main woods rifle Winchester 94 eastern carbine 30WCF

Working on the stock for a 1903A3 action re-barreled to 7X57 so except for the action all new.

30.06 is on a Mauser action and I have no idea of the age.

1908 Brazilian mauser action with a 1909 Argentine barrel & stock, my "Franken-gun if you will. Caliber is 7.65x53 Mauser and it looks and handles just like a Cavalry Carbine (which it is) even if not authentic, it prints 1" @ 50 yds with iron sights, and Hornady's 150 grn SST's @ 2550 fps, so I'm good for 150-200 yds, Took it out last weekend (nothing) going again this coming weekend.:D

Don't hunt.
But if I did, it would be with this 1928 Savage 99:

well if my plans had worked out.....which they didn't  I be taking my 1942 K98 Mauser for a hunt of two firsts... out of state and mule deer.

Since that didn't pan out, again. I'll be packing the new born into the woods for a 2nd year. My three year old 24" Rossi 92 in 44 magnum.

My Rem. 760 was built in 1980 , in . 35 Rem. . I rechambered it to .358 Win. about 12 - 15 years ago . Excellent Deer rifle , gets it done !

Marlin 336C 30-30 I bought new in 1979 for $79.99 (well my dad actually bought it for me/Christmas). I might take out my new (not sure the year) Sig SHR970 30-06 this year depending on where I hunt.

Still take out my Great Uncle's 1912 vintage Marlin 1893 (.30-30) every fall, at least for a couple of days...

Pic is from 1914...My gun is 4th from left:
