9mm for $300? Input please

I love Ruger's and you can't go wrong there. However, would also suggest looking at the SIG P6/225 if they are still floating around.

Or, if you would consider 9x18Mak the CZ82's are a deal!

I'd visit the local gunshop and check out their used counter. A lot of people are selling guns to make rent in this economy (at least at the shop I go to, anyway).

You might be able to pick up a used Beretta, Glock, Springfield XD in that price range.

You should be able to find a used S&W 5906 in that price range. Very reliable and solid gun and well worth looking at. Once a favorite of police forces and there's quite a few of them around.

Might be tougher to find, but look for a used Glock 19. You might get lucky, and find a good one for around your price range.

It could be yours!!!!

Its calling your name!! Hahaha:)
About to go shoot mine in about 10mins

Maybe there is someone who will sell you a gently used Glock? In this economy, people need money. But at the same time, some really good guns are commanding a premium.

You've already gotten some great suggestions with the P95, Sigma, and Sig p6.

But if what you're thinking of is a compact handgun that you can carry easily, those are large and bulky. For a pistol you'd be able to stuff in a pocket or easily hide in a belt holster, you might want to consider the Kel-Tec PF-9. If you're not interested in concealability, the others are a better bet, as the small PF-9 isn't pleasant to shoot all afternoon. The others would be. It's one of those trade-off situations, where smaller size means snappy recoil. Bigger means easier handling, but tougher concealment.
