your first...?

Had access to most of the family's guns while growing up. First one of my own? 14th Birthday Present, a Winchester model 270 .22LR.

Springfield bolt action .22lr with broken ejector pawl; effectively making it a single shot rifle. But it was accurate.

Glock 21 in OD Green. I like to see who got what first, I think by loooking at peoples first guns you can guess a general age group.

Remington 870 Wingmaster. It belong to my father and was handed down to me when I was 12 or so. I still have it (I'm 49 now) and it is the best pump shotgun I have ever used.

Stainless Ruger 10/22. Carrying that shiny new rifle out of the store gave me more pride than getting my drivers' license did.

The first gun I ever fired was Dad's 10/22, but going out there all by myself and buying my own gun with my own money felt like a rite of passage.

First gun that was "mine" was an H&R "Topper" .410 single shot. I still have it.

First rifle was a Marlin Model 60 .22. Still have that one, too

First handgun was a Thompson Center Contender in .44 Magnum. Wish I still had that one.

Firsts!

First shotgun - Winchester Model 50 12 gauge- beautiful
First pistol- S&W M&P9mm (bought this year; love it already)
First post- this one, hello to all!

Boatme98 beat me to the punch. It was an M16A2. Came with a buttstock cleaning kit, a simple nylon sling, six 30 round STANAG magazines and two weeks (x) of free instruction! Followed by a few years of advanced training. Boy, those were the days. I still dream of all those cases of ammo!

(x) In my time, USMC boot at Parris Island was thirteen weeks but the range portion for qualification was a week of 'snapping in' practice followed by a week of four practice days and a day of qualification. AIT involved even more training and eventually I wound up lugging the M60 around, then the SAW and only qualed every year with the M16A2. I still remember my boot issue SN!

My first civilian purchase, I will add, that was mine, all mine, was a Rem 870 Express Synthetic Magnum 12 gauge slug gun for deer hunting.

My first gun was a Marlin 982S bolt action .22 Magnum rifle (still love this gun).

My first pistol was the venerable Smith & Wesson 22A. Many thousands of rounds later it's still running great! It's gotta be the most often shot gun I have.
