Your first handgun? For fun :)

My first hand gun was a Colt Combat Commander, I saved up my money and my Dad bought it for me when I was 18 yrs old. That was in 1980, it kicked like a possessed Mule.

First handgun was a 45 cal black powder that I won in a shoot when I was in high school first one I bought was a firestorm 1911 clone loved that gun sold it to a buddy it shot great.

HK USPc 9mm, bought on my 21st birthday about 13 yeas ago. It's still my favorite and I still trust it enough that I'm about to carry it while on duty tonight. :)

OK, technically it was an Armi San Marco repro of a Colt 1861 Navy. Bought it at a Outdoors Show my future BIL was working. Don't think that's what you're talking about tho...

It was a used, excellent, Browning Hi-Power. I said I'll take it and the guys who owned the shop said "well, it must be your lucky day." It came with three mags, a holster and magazine carrier which they "threw in." $375 IIRC.

GP 100 in all stainless. Picked it up shortly after turning 21. I almost sold the darn thing at one point, but now I decided I'm not due to nostalgia reasons.

First handgun I ever fired was my dad's WWII 1911, about age eight.
First handgun I ever bought was a WWII (or maybe older) 1911 (pre-A1), about age 25. It was a POS, so I eventually sold/nearly-gave-it-away.

But my 1911 fever continues to this day, 30 years later. :)

I'm betting no one else can claim this......

Back in late 70's Star Wars was my favorite movie and whenever I viewed my dad's gun collection I always thought that his 9mm Astra from WWII was not from years ago, but was from Star Wars. So I always wanted to "hold" that one. Well on my 15th birthday in 1985, my Golden birthday, low and behold my gift was that Astra. Love it. Have an orginal holster too. What is funny is when my friends ask me which gun means the most of my collection of pistols, I name that one. It seems to stun them when there are several nice Colts and S&W sitting there.

Nice thread.

Mine first is a stainless Ruger P89. I had just applied for a carry permit and went to see if I could finally decide on a pistol. The local pawn/gun shop had a used P89 for $300 that I grabbed. Love it, fits me well.
My second is my favorite, though. I bought a new Ruger 22/45 within 3 months to save money on ammo. I love that gun. Quick, accurate, fun, cheap. I has it all!

Ruger P89. Worked great but I hated the trigger once I realized that all pistol triggers weren't mush. Sold it. Kinda miss it.

Here's my first handgun given to me by my parents when I was 12 or 13 years old 1976 or 77'?

That S&W Model 15, Stella is a beauty! I know very little about revolvers, but something about that picture excites me lol

CZ 75B. I bought it for my 21st birthday and was so broke after I had no money to buy ammo. First time I ever shot it was months later for armed qualification as an armed security officer. I ended up with a perfect score.:D
I will never part with it.

My first was an AMT .22 Automag 6" barrel. I traded some car parts for it. It was finicky with ammo, but was fun to shoot once I figured out what it wanted to eat.
My second was a Smiff .44 29-2 8 3/8" barrel.

Sadly, I traded & sold both in moments of weakness.:o I'll buy more just like 'em one day.

I was going to school in Las Vegas, and used to go to the gun shop that rented guns. After shooting, I would drool over their selection. When I turned 21, in 1987, I came into an inheritance. I spent some on a Glock 17, and a lot more on the Steyr AUG on the wall behind the case. I couldn't shoot either one for lack of training.

My first handgun was a Para-ordnance P13. I really wanted a P12 but the store only had the P13 in stock the day I turned 21. What was I suppose to do, wait for them to get a P12? No way!
