Your first handgun? For fun :)

Ruger sp101 with the full hammer and a 2.5" barrel on my 21st. Never cared for it, so I sold it to my brother. Now I miss it, and am plotting to buy it back.

Smith and Wesson 6 inch model 586. Bought in 1986 for $303 OTD. Sold during hard times for $350. I miss that gun.

First pistol I ever bought was a Kimber pro carry Ten II. 13+1 rounds of 45 seemed like a good idea to me. I carried that gun for years and shot the crap out of it. Never malfunctioned on me and a few years ago a buddy of mine finally talked me out of it. It's a hell of a shooter, especially for a $600 "hi-cap" 1911. I've still got dibs on that thing if he ever decides to sell it.

Colt 1991 Commander that I bought for my 21st birthday. I would never sell it. I've actually been considering sending it to Wilson for some customizing.

1858 Remington clone when I was 12. Got mom to drive me the 30 miles to the gs and paid for it myself. I was looking for a .22 single action to replace the one I got when I was 10 and wore out but when I saw that big ol Remington I had to have it.:D

First handgun I bought was a black powder kit. Think it was the .36 cal 1851 Navy revolver. Fun to shoot.

First MODERN handgun I bought was a used Dan Wesson .357

I still have both (plus lots of others)

Just got into guns this past December/January. My Beretta 92FS (first gun) was given to me as a gift. First one I purchased with my money was a S&W 640 Pro a few weeks ago.

My first guns were a pair of engraved 1851 Navy revolvers. Was 19 and had just been bitten by the gun bug so I didn't know much, begged my Dad to buy them when I could just have easily bought them myself off Gunbroker and sent them home. They arrived wrapped up in a box marked "Steak." my dear mother was rather disappointed when they actually contained pistols.

later she was also rather disappointed when the next several packages I sent home contained 9 more pistols

My first was an H & R .22 revolver that my wife bought me for Christmas somewhere around 1982 or '83. jben

Taurus PT-92 bought on my 21st birthday. First handgun I was given was a S&W model 28 no dash 4 inch. My grandpa gave it to me, may he RIP.

Norinco Government sized 1911 that I bought when I was 21 years old. I was so proud of that gun. Then I caught the fever and it has never stopped.

Browning High Power, 1980 Belgian w adjustable sites. I payed $400, found in the local paper in 1990. I still have it and love it!

I knew I wanted a BHP because my dad had a T series years ago and it felt perfect in my hand. Plus they're gorgeous. I have a T series myself now. It was a gift from my dad. I'm so lucky ; )

My first pistol I was 15 or 16 (85,86) was a ruger blackhawk 44 magnum.

My brother and his friends (all 10+ years older) were into the whole 44 mag thing. My brother bought a TC with a 44 and 22 barrel, and I bought his old ruger.

First Handgun I bought was a Ruger P-90 in 1996 I think. That was a great gun but heavy and didn't do well as a carry gun, I could conceal it no problem but I never wanted to lug the thing around. Ended up selling it to partially fund a Kimber Pro CDP II which I love. I wish now that I hadn't sold the Ruger, should have just held out a few more weeks and saved the cash. Won't make that mistake again.

Easy one, even with short term memory loss! Got a Ruger P95 last summer. Just love that gun...fits my big hand perfectly.

Since then, I added a CZ82, S&W model 10-5 with a 3 inch taper barrel.

And for 22 madness, got a Ruger Mark III 22/45 and an old High Standard Sentinel R-100.

I'm trying to decide if I like wheel guns or bottom feeders better. So far I like them all.

first handgun

at the age of 9 i was given an h&r sidewinder 22 that was the finest gift for a boy in the country an old army buddy of my dads gave it to him. and he passed it to me. lord knows how much ammo went thru it. i passed it on to cousin and it stayed in the family. yes i was yong but dicipline was there that little pistol till means more to me than a 1200 dollar colt.
