Your .380 is preferred for type versus size?

Number 1 would be a nice old Beretta 70, closely followed by either a Sig232 or Sig 238. My cousin has a 20 year old nickel BDA, a very, very nice gun! One I would hesitate to re-visit is another AMT 380 SA, nasty little Bugger, but kinda cute.

My .380s are

Colt Hammerless - the original .380 (and nicest to shoot).
Kahr P380 - a tiny gun that shoots bigger than it is
Ruger LCP - slimmest, easiest to slip into a pocket

I do not know what the intended topic happens to be other than a discussion of .380 as a CC pistol. I have at least thirty pistols in my collection in .380, carry a Sig P238, S&w Bodyguard or Star DK which ever suits my needs for the day and have no concerns of being under gunned with any of them. I also have a variety of concealable 9mm and .45 ACP pistols that could be substituted for the .380 should I feel the need.
So my point is...love the .380 cartridge and many of the pistols made for it and I shoot well enough for good shot placement which is the key to CC.

Me, too. I have other guns/calibers, but just like the .380.

I had a KelTec 3AT however gave it away and still carry my old KelTec P-32 when I have shorts and no shirt.

That combined with the username caused a "wait....wha..?".

I like the extra round and how it locks back on the last shot. Not so snappy either and easier to control for a CCW. This is just my opinion and no one has to agree.

Agree. I shot the P3AT and P32 side by side and walked out with the P32. The 3AT was a little too snappy and no slide lock on empty mag. Even with the 10 round mag it's still tiny but I have a full length grip.

I like the 380 and it started off with a Colt Mustang plus 2, a few others came and went (Colt stayed) but most of the time now it is the Beretta 84F. It is easy to shoot and feels good in the hand and yes I know for a gun that size I could carry a 9mm but I like the idea of 13+1 rounds on tap and the wife shoots it well and the decocker is a good feature she likes.:)

P.S. Forgot to add my Colt Pony :D

I got the idea early on that "peggysue" is like the "This is Peggy" from the Discover Card commercials! :D

I am watching for a good used P32 Kel-Tec as well. Most likely it will not replace my Elsie Pea for deep concealment though. I just think it would be a fun little 32. My others, a Walther/Manurhen PP, and a CZ50, are too big, and heavy in my opinion to take full advantage of the tiny 32acp round for CCW.

I own 3 380s. LCP, Mustang Pocketlite, and Beretta 84. Mustang is just under a pound loaded - Lcp 4 oz lighter. I carry the Mustang much more. Why - less felt recoil and easier to shoot accurately. The Beretta is heavy and thick (would carry my CM9 over it) but I still like it.

I ended up with 380 when I received my grandfather's Beretta 84. It was the first pistol I owned and felt better than the several other pistols I'd fired. Certainly a better quality pistol than I'd have been able to afford myself.

Now that I'm looking for a pocket gun I'm going to stick with 380 for the compact size and to limit the types of ammunition I have to manage. (right now it's .380, .22 and 12ga.). Probably a LCP, though I'm keeping my options open.

If I bought a .380, it would be a Sig 232, an Astra A60 or an Astra Constable, in that order of preference.

I would buy these because I think they are drop-dead gorgeous and I wold love to own the, shoot them and generally spend house cleaning, oiling, re-cleaning and re-oiling, purely for the excuse of handling it.

The fact they are in .380 ACP would be entirely conincidental.
