Would you put a red dot on a defensive handgun?

Due to work and LOT's of rain, I didn't get to test my G26/JPoint until yesterday.

Initial zero at 10 yds resulted in all rounds through the same hole. At 20, the max distance I could get where I was shooting, the results were very close to the same. Only got to shoot about 60 rounds.

Only minor problem: it shoots a bit low with the mounted suppressor sights only, but that was easily fixed. Dead-on with the dot.

I had given it a rough zero at home by lining the dot up with the irons, but since they were low the dot was also. Just about 3/4 turn and the dot was where it needed to be.

Been carrying it around the house and it's no harder to conceal than it was without the sight. I'll start EDC since it is zeroed now.

Hopefully I'll get to fully test it in a few days.

I feel your pain. A similar JPoint was too slow to acquire on my CZ75, but works extremely well on my XDm. I suspect it’s a combination of the gun’s grip angle and my physical makeup.

Again, the beauty of co-witness sights is that there is little to no retraining required to get on the dot.

When I had the JPoint in a dovetail mount, it took some practice to get the dot lined up. But it was only a hundred or so practice draws and some live fire. It's not an insurmountable task.
