Would It Bother You If...

I'm surprised that not one person who has posted in this thread uses an FFL that is a friend of theirs or with whom they have become friendly with over the years! If your FFL picks up a WWI 1911 you purchased just to check it out, and he's well versed on how to handle a collectible 1911, are you really going to chastise him for this? Not do business with him anymore? Y'all are missing out on half the fun of buying an interesting gun!

The FFL that I use to do my transfers actually looks forward to doing my transfers because I tend to buy guns that really interest him. He's always very careful with my guns, but I know he looks at them before I get to the store. It's never been a problem, and it gives us something interesting to talk about.

The OP's problem was that the FFL allowed other people to handle the gun... and CDJ mentioned the FFL and a buddy shooting a "new" AR. Neither's the same as a knowledgeable dealer merely handling the gun.

No joke it took me over a year to find another MR556. I now have an FFL that knows how picky I am. He has became a friend and usually charges no fee and sells me firearms at his list price. I always slip him some cash for his trouble. So everything worked out great. We end up shooting together with our families (kind of an outing) a few times a year. So my only regret is that the MR556 I originally was going to buy was a very low serial numbered one.
