would any of you guys here a tfl trust your life to a taurus?

Yep. I have an older no de-cock PT99 (blued). I carry it whenever I leave the house. Being 6'4" and a tad over 200# I can carry with an inside the waist holster under a shirt. I have recently inherited a nice 1911A1 but just don't feel comfortable with it. Figured it is best to carry what I am comfortable with.

I have trusted my life to a Taurus in the past (M605, .357MAG) and I am about to do so again. (PT-145) The mere presance of that diminutive revolver gave two gang punks pause one day while I was walking home from the store. I am sure as I am about my own name that at least one of them was armed and that they were looking for an easy mark to rob and kill!!!!! Taurus changed their minds.;)

If it is a newer manufacture yes. Go back 20 plus years ago and they were considered right up there with Jennings.

They have cleaned up their act a lot over the years.

My experience with gun store clerks

runs the range from extremely helpful to useless. There are definitely some who have opinions based on: 1) what makes them the most money and 2) what makes them the most money. There are also others who really try to help you find the right weapon in your price range.

I have a PT-92AFS which for me is quite accurate, easy to shoot, and I keep as my primary house gun, so yes I would and do trust it with my life.

Absolutely!! Carry my PT 100 AFS CCW and my Tracker in the great outdoors. But thanks to Denfoote and his croonies, I will be changing over to the PT 145 here shortly.

I keep looking around at other manufactures but with my military pay I cant afford to get the Kimbers or Para-ordinance priced 45's yet. With Taurus the price is right and the warranty is awesome.

Would I trust the PT92 with my life? Without question, I have many times. Over the last 10 years my PT92 has digested thousands of rounds without a hitch, I have no doubt that when I pull the trigger it will fire.

Add one more affirmative vote. One of my primary carry weapons is an M85UL. Light, reliable, easy to point and shoot.

NO

I had a Taurus 605 that constantly missfired and went out of time. I had have only shot one reliable Taurus auto the rest have been jamamatics.

Glad to be of service!!! :D

Yes.

But the same would be true with any shooting machine I would keep. I just won't put up with unreliable machines. I've researched the Taurus pistols enough to be confident that any of them could be keepers, just as the Glocks, Berettas, etc., could be.

If it comes down to losing my life due to the next trigger pull being a FTF or jam using any revolver or pistol, I'd already consider my life as gone anyway. Then I'd pull the trigger while making myself a hard target and intimidating the waste material out of the adversary just as the military trained me to do.

I've had FTFs with my first revolver (worn FP) and jams with my first CCW pistol (MAB .32). The weapon isn't nearly as important as a confident, competent attitude and attack posture because your attacker has the burden of police, guilt, and shaming his momma scaring him in the first place. When you don't appear to be an easy target, his fear will probably make him withdraw.

Absolutely NOT!

I do not like their products and have had problems with their quality control in the past. I will never buy one of them ever again.
