Workplace death threats against me.

SKN: Not a problem. Deaths were in Minneapolis. 4th precinct about 8 or 9 years ago on northside. You can call the administration and get the report. A big scandal at the time. Also Minneapolis Star-Trib archives would get it for you.
And they flash-bangs were not modified. But they did start the fire and as I recall it was two older folks.
If you need I can call and get it for you.
There was also a major civil suit on the issue and a ton of community protest.
Let me know what you find.

Have you considered a car bomb? Afterall, that would take him out before he had a chance to do any real harm to you? Let's face it, this is no time to be "nice"... you might have been threatened!!
Don't let silly concerns about fair play, money or possible jail time get in the way of your safety!
Pre-emptive strike...that's what I'm all about!
Hey, you can always file for bankruptcy, change your name, cut off all ties with your family and move to the Brazilian Jungle for the rest of your years....

(Most of you will recognize the above post as a sarcastic, T-I-C one... it is not meant to mock the original problem in any way...nor offer a realistic solution. It is simply meant to point out that there are several inappropriate options, not just oven cleaner ;).)

Pluspinc--

I was going to respond to your above last night-- got sidetracked by Real Life.

You are alternately representing two mutually-exclusive positions:

[a] Do whatever you have to do: this is your life we're talking about!

Carry with you a less-than-certain, not immediately-lethal device, that you have modified, presumably because we don't want to break any nasty gun laws.

Dunno how YOUR state looks upon such things, but MY state defines a deadly weapon as a firearm or anything that has been altered to cause death or serious bodily injury. Thus, your can of EZ Off qualifies.

Case law supports OC spray as being represented as a NON-LETHAL weapon. If the guy has asthma, I really don't care; if I had good reason to use OC, I can justify it. People don't die by EZ OFF because people don't get sprayed by it. Why? Because it's not at ALL safe. Not even as an assigned risk. Sure, people occasionally die from OC. But how many hundreds of thousands were SAVED by that non-lethal option? In many jurisdictions, cops have empty hands, a gun, or OC, and are damned glad to have that third option. Every man and woman in my OC training class took a 1-3 second direct facial hit of the stuff. Beyond excruciating pain and swollen eyes for 45 minutes to 4 hours, no other ill-effects were observed. Personally, I think the stuff's greater than sliced bread. It has some major drawbacks, but I recommend every adult that I know carry it whenever they leave the house. Men included.

But if I follow your advice from top to bottom, I can only conclude that if your logic were truly linear, you'd advise the man to carry the most effective weapon that he can. That would be.... a pistol, I'm thinking.

Hey-- Good advice! ;)

Not trying to get the last word, here, but we've seriously hijacked DAL's original thread, and we're over 103k, here.

DAL, if you've got news to report, start up Part II.

Otherwise, y'all are free to open new threads! :)
