Wisconsin and age of exercising rights

What is that Chicago tribune article claiming I have ad blockers on my phone and it won’t let me view the page with out disabling my add blocker . I haven’t been following this case at all recently anything new since he was bailed out

I'm disgusted. That "hand symbol" has meant "Okay!" for decades -- I'd say at least back to WW2, and likely before that. So a couple of weeks ago somebody said it might be white supremacist, so this dimbulb of a prosecutor wants the judge to revoke or increase Kyle's bail because it it?

I can think of a prosecutor who needs to get a life.

Okay (no pun intended) -- Wikipedia traces it to 1839 in the U.S., in the context of "okay."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OK_gesture

As that wikipedia page explains, there was a 4chan op years ago to convince the mass media (notably CNN) that the OK hand sign was a white supremacy sign. The op succeeded. The entire MSM now believes it. I suppose some racists might actually use it, but it's also used by everyone else essentially to troll the MSM, with often spectacular results.

I wouldn't say this [hanging out in a pub legally drinking in the presence of his mom, and taking pictures with some alleged Proud Boys] was a good decision, either.

Heaven forbid an 18 year old obey the law in having a drink in the presence of his mother after going through the stress of arraignment for politically-motivated, malicious murder charges.

Why is it assumed that Kyle knows much about the Proud Boys or the OK hand sign? He's at a bar, some people who support him want to take a picture. That's not evidence he's racist, that's media spin and slime. Why would a white supremacist have been part of a small group helping an Indian immigrant family protect their business?

The idea that the Proud Boys are uniformly white supremacist is suspicious, driven heavily by the SPLC.

Now that prosecutors have made sure Kyle won't do anything horrible and dangerous like have a beer to de-stress...

...he has a dog.

For anyone catching up or really for anyone who hasn't done a deep dive into the events that night, here are good resources:

Orcanut's spreadsheet is excellent, and the timeline tab should be the first stop for anyone wondering what happened when: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...Z4sXdN1vnjYoFsqZBgs7llD1bnMwlPWMvfao/pubhtml#
Orcanut's tracking kyle video, version 3: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ferrn7Shyk

WaPo is good on background: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBM9Ke_JI1Q

V-Radio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3IaFV_l2-k

"But wait!" you say. "Enough with the facts on the ground. I want to see an incredibly painful moral debate between a self-defense proponent and a socialist willing to straw-man the situation to the nth degree to get to the conclusion that Kyle wasn't justified!" You're in luck! There is just such a debate, between youtubers Destiny and Vaush! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_0R_aiPb-s

This poor innocent kid sure does engage in a lot of
behavior that needs to be explained or excused.
Key word is "kid" . . . .
Who's in way over his head, and with apparently
very little adult oversight from start to finish

I had not seen the photo of him flashing the "OK" sign . I still think it was self defense but....

I've used the "OK" sign maybe hundreds of times over the years . I've also seen it used maybe thousands of times . Never have I seen it in a photo with multiple people signing it to the camera . I could be wrong but I'd say there "IS" deeper meaning to them flashing the sign then telling the person taking the pic " everything is ok " . I could be wrong but the "impression" I got from the photo will not be easily reversed .

He is screwing him self continually . I saw the security video of what appeared to be him and his mom walking into the police station alone with out a lawyer . Holy cow if he went and talked with them with out representation ....

I don't see how they get to 1st degree homicide based on the videos and eye witness accounts . He must have said something that incriminated him self in those first interview . I agree with who ever hinted his parent/s are not helping him out here and may have failed him miserably .

Rittenhouse is not living at home but in a safe house. They claim the police advised them not to share his address with the court for his safety. The prosecutor wants him rearrested and his bond increased because he didn't notify the court of a change of address. (and he was seen drinking beer with alleged Proud Boys members and making an OK hand gesture)

Here's a tiny, fair-use quote from the article:
"It is noteworthy that the State has only now decided to file a motion to increase bond in this case, despite having corresponded with Attorney Chirafisi regarding the change in Kyle’s residence over two months ago,” Richards [Rittenhouse's attorney] wrote.

IMHO, the okay sign is the real issue. That seems like a 1st amendment problem. So does associating with the Proud Boys -- or anyone else for that matter.

Another point that was raised is Rittenhouse didn't post the bail money, it was posted for him. So he doesn't have anything at stake. (how about his life?)

The ok signing is not a 1st amendment issue , it is a perception issue . They are not raising it to use in there legal battle per say . It’s about public opinion and jury pool . If the above is true and the state knew about the address change . It would seem to me this filing was more about the press release then the substance of there filing . Also isn’t the court/state required to cc anything they send to kyle to his attorney as well . This smells like a total planed set up to me .

This poor innocent kid sure does engage in a lot of behavior that needs to be explained or excused.

Only because agitators and the media are manufacturing "behavior that needs to be explained". http://kenoshacountyeye.com/2021/01...-caller-in-the-rittenhouse-bar-investigation/

This bail violation thing is absurd. Of course twitter and the media are enraged over it, proving that so many people irrationally hate Kyle that his attempt to hide his address is completely warranted.

1. The mail that was returned was a notice of his January 5th arraignment, which he showed up to. He's not on the run, missing, or anything of the sort. He's at a safe house, completely understandably.

2. In November, another Rittenhouse attorney had an email exchange with ADA Binger asking about filing a change of address under seal. Binger opposed it, saying Wisconsin has a proud history of open access to court records and unless they could cite a specific, direct threat, his address should be public.

3. During the bail hearing in early November, Binger specifically noted that he understood that Kyle's family was no longer living at the stated address, and used that as a reason why he was arguing for $2 million bail. He knew. They all knew. This is just theater.

I wish Schroeder, the trial judge, would look at item 3 specifically, and then sanction Binger for being obviously malicious.

I think he's a dumb kid, and it's a mistake to try to turn him into a poster boy for gun and self-defense rights.

I don't dispute that the media covered this poorly, that's to be expected. But he wouldn't be in this position if not for his stupid decisions.

Not a single poster here knows FACTS of Rittenhouse's alleged crimes, yet they're more than ready to support MSM's agenda. No wonder Amendment II is on life support.

I'm more in favor of an intelligence, or at least "ability to use common sense", test before procreating.

ghbucky,

Are you trying to sell an agenda that Rittenhouse did something wrong by entering another state?

You are aware that that was a construct of the former Soviet Union, are you not?

Based upon what I've read, which was all hearsay and as such was junk, Rittenhouse is innocent. He has a natural right to life.

I'm not convinced Rittenhouse has committed any crimes whatsoever. If he has, most likely it's a misdemeanor for firearms possession. He did commit the unforgivable sin of killing a couple of the left's folk heroes (a wife-beater and a pedophile), and the prosecutor seems to be pandering to those leftists.

He's a stupid kid. Of course he's stupid, he's a kid. Actually, more naïve than stupid (he might be stupid too, I dunno) I think he needs to hire a PR firm more than a lawyer, because the law doesn't seem to matter anymore, it's all public perception. The prosecutor is willing to crucify this kid just to get likes on Facebook.

The bottom line: we don't have all the facts and will not have all the facts, at least for a long time. A discussion based on so much guesswork and speculation is pointless. Details matter.
