Will you CC a gun with 3K rounds through the pipe?

I've got a CC pistol with well north of 40,000 rounds through it, admittedly not my daily carry piece. 1903 Colt Pocket Hammerless, it was Dad's and Grandpa's before I got it. Grandpa carried it, along with a 1913 Sauer, while working on the docks in Cleveland in the 30s and late 40s, with some time off in a safe during WWII. He put a 50 rounds through it every week, firing off the end of one of the docks at peach boxes in the water, all of his guard co-workers took their practice that way. 50 rounds a week times 52 weeks equals 2,600 round per year for about 15 years.....he said he never had any problems with it, not even once.
Dad got it when Gramps passed in the 80s, and put a fair number of rounds through it, maybe another 5,000. I got it about 3 years ago, and I've put about 1,500 or so through it. She shoots just as well today as she did when made, at 21 feet everything will be in a 3in circle. I did have some problems with FTLs at first, but I narrowed that down to the mag lips being squeezed in as a result of the magazine being in a box under a Ruger Blackhawk for 5 years.....

In his book Ed McGivern has photos of tight one hole groups fired from S&W K-22s with 200,000 rounds through them. I have a M1911 barrel that is badly worn, but at 21 feet accuracy is quite acceptable.

I would think you will shoot it at the range much more often than at a bad guy?? So if a problem were to crop up you would know about it during a range shoot. I don't know where everybody else lives, but I don't have to shoot at bad guys very often here. Some seem to even run low on 'self defense' ammo.
