The reason why so many LE Depts. go with Glocks, and the reasons you may want to as well is quite simple.
1) They are light, so this enables LEO's to carry other cool stuff on their belts without needing unfashionable suspenders.
2) They are carried more than fired, so the excellent corrosion resistant finish really comes into it, especially when sweating in an un-airconditioned doughnut shop.
3) They are very simple. (The Glocks I mean)
4) The Glock is such an ugly gun that quick draw drills in front of a mirror make the average LEO look pretty good.
5) Glock gives enormous discounts and lucrative trade in deals to LE Depts. who go with their guns.
6) LEO's can play with Hi-cap mags at normal prices, and Glocks mags are very reasonable in price.
7) Glocks are rumored to be somewhat reliable, which is helpful in the unlikely event that the gun will actually need to be fired in self-defense.
What you do with your money, (or other people's money as with most LEO's) is your business. Glocks are great weapons, just not for everybody.
