I do smell a troll on this one, but I'll bite. I carry large calibers and small calibers, but the only gun that is with me 100% of the time is my LCP.
When I am in my business attire (usually a dress shirt and tie), the only gun that can stay completely hidden from view is something the size of an LCP.
The premise of the question tells me the OP has decided that a bullet like the .380 leaves a person under gunned. I would counter with the fact that the .380 has been a primary LE agency caliber in Europe for decades and is still used to this day. It is still known in some areas as the 9mm short or 9mm Browning. You can thank Dirty Harry movies in the U.S. for giving people the impression that only very large calibers can kill, or "blow your head clean off".
I do carry a 9mm, .40 S/W, .45 acp or even a .357 Magnum, but when all I can conceal is my LCP (mousegun), I do so with confidence.
Other than an inch or two of penetration, both the .380 and 9mm will give you the same wound channel and tear you to shreds.
My mouse that roared:
