Why do you carry a mouse gun ? for cc .style.caliber. 22.25 .32. 380. a lot of people carry fullsize all day long.9mm .40 45.38.357.are they better than you.

Because my Ruger LCP is ALWAYS in my pocket and NOBODY knows it. That is why. As said a zillion times before, a smaller gun in your pocket is better than a bigger gun at home or in the car.

------ yes :)

At the range they're just fun to shoot. .22 ammo is cheap. I wouldn't even call a .380 a mouse gun though. A PPK is a great weapon for backup or even as a primary gun. The smaller a gun is, the more concealable it is.

I'll admit to carrying a Walther PPK/S .380 ACP but usually when it's really hot (gulf coast 100 degree plus temps) or I'm feeling lazy and not wanting to dress in order to adequately conceal my Government Model .45ACP

Mouse guns are all about concealability, and it used to be that the smallest guns had to be in small calibers, typically .32 on down.

In recent times, we've seen some really good guns introduced that are easily small enough to be characterized as a mouse gun, but finally done in decent calibers.
The most ubiquitous is the Ruger LCP, and it's no accident that it's size and caliber (.380) coupled with it's cost of just over $300, it has sold somewhere around a gazillion or so.
The very most notable is the Rohrbaugh R9s which takes the mouse gun to new territory being that it's the same size of the LCP but in 9mm. Costing 3-1/2 times more than the LCP, it may never sell in such numbers as the Ruger, but it a very worthy pistol for those who can afford it, and worth every penny.

I see no reason any more to carry anything in .32 caliber or below.

I think that circumstances play a role. Living in a fairly small town I don't feel the need to be burdened with carrying a larger/heavier handgun. Though, nowadays there are plenty of small lightweight guns that pack plenty of punch (which weren't available 5-10 years ago). Personally I do draw the line with .380/.38 calibers as being the minimum that I will carry. Where you live, your occupation, personal abilities etc... will help determine if it's worthwhile to carry something larger. I realize that bad things can and do happen everywhere but the probability of violence can be translated into percentages. For example, if I have to go to Phoenix, AZ (a major city with large city problems) I will pack a lightweight compact .45, but otherwise it's a .38 airweight snub. Like others have stated, it's a trade off. I feel that for my daily threat level I am well protected. If you feel differently, by all means carry whatever makes you feel safe

One reason that I love mouse guns, that seems to not be being mentioned, is the craftsmanship. It really takes a lot of work to produce such small, powerful, and precise pieces of machinery.

There is also something alluring about something so small but so powerful. They have an almost "naughty" or taboo quality to them. There is a reason that bad guys throughout movie history have been some of the biggest proponents of mouse guns.

Some people look at mouse guns as a non macho status .not me i would rather be ready than not .what's in your pocket? my pocket seepamp 32.:D

"are they better than you."

:rolleyes::barf:

How about...

I'll carry what I want when I want, and it's no one else's business but my own?

Don't like my particular choice of carry gun at any point in time?

Tough.

Hoyt...

It's almost too easy to just slip the LCP in the pocket.
Then slip it in a box and mail it to me.:p

It's always nice to have a little " sumthin', sumthin'" in your pocket.:) My brother was kind enough to buy me a H&K .380...he just don't know it's mine yet.:D
