WHY GLOCK????

No use arguing further, glocks are clearly perfection to you and thats fine, but your complete lack of willingness to admit that a dislike of the grip is a legitimate reason not to own a certain pistol is just as irritating as the folks who bash the glock grip angle when they've never held one.

THANK YOU, finally someone not so biased towards Glock's that they can recognize a legitimate complaint.

By the way, before anyone says I am biased myself against Glock's, while I am not a huge fan of them, and even less of a fan of the fanboys, if you go back to my post on the first page I admitted they are great guns.

You seem to be missing the whole point. Its not that Im biased towards Glock (even if they are what I happen to spend the most time with these days), Im just calling the grip angle argument with "any" of them BS. Youre the ones who seem to have the problem.

We'd be going over the same thing if it were SIG, or HK, or whatever you were complaining about.

Think what you want, you clearly have the problem if you cant accept that the grip and grip angle of a pistol is a legitimate complaint for some people.

It's no surprise based on this photo that M&P's and Sig's are my favorite guns to shoot, and the ones I shoot the best, where Glock's don't feel or sit right in my hand. I am not just making up the grip angle argument, this photo is clear proof that there is a difference.

If Glock's feel good in your hand and point naturally for you, THAT'S GREAT! But for those who they don't, don't try to tell them it's BS. Once again, what works for one person may not work for the next.

Nobody said you were making up the grip angle.

The truth is that's if you had to use whatever handgun as a duty weapon because it was what was authorised, the grip angle on any of them would be a non issue.

We used the S&W 38 and Beretta 92. Both of which are not my preference. However I became quite proficient using either one and when switching to my off duty Glock had no issue with the grip angle.

So, stop arguing and trying to prove a point that we have already conceded that if the weapon doesn't fit, then don't buy it!

That's a poor argument, it would be a non issue based on that I would have absolutely no choice in the matter. Fortunately I am not forced to use a Glock, and while I shoot them well, I shoot other guns better. I don't need to be told that my preference for one gun over another based on the how the gun feels in my hand and points for me is BS when it is a valid complaint.

I never said there was a difference, simply that youre making a big deal out of nothing, when it comes to it. The reason I cant accept it, is because I dont have an issue with it, and can easily switch from one to another. I know Im not the only one too.

Fit is basically a matter of perception. Most all of them really are not that much different size wise, and Ill bet if you put the calipers to your SIG's, youll find they are bigger than the Glocks, yet you love them. I like them too, and shot them just as well.

I never said you didn't have a valid complaint. I said you did and I pointed out that it can be over come and I said if it isn't a good fit the shooter should not buy it!

So stop trying to belabor the point and get the last word when your comments have absolutely nothing to do with the OP.

Remember that the OP is "Why Glock" not why not Glock.

Can you accept that for many thousands of people around the globe the Glock fit, just as we have conceded that it doesn't fit you?

It seems that all you want to do is argue why not Glock. Sorry dude not the OP here.

And that's where the problem lies, just because it may not be a problem for YOU, you refuse to acknowledge that it may be a legitimate problem for someone else.

Absolutely, I even stated such.

I admitted they are great guns, and said if they work for you than that's great. But I am not going to sit idly by while AK103K says that I don't have a legitimate complaint as to why I don't like Glock's.

Alright, you win.

I acknowledge you have issues, and hope at some point, you will see the light, and realize its all BS. Hows that? :D

why Glock?

I honestly cannot think of a single reason. With all the choices available (good choices, no less) there is no reason to own an ugly gun. Price? Nope. Reliability? There are others that fit that bill. Capacity? Hunh uh. So in reality, aside from believing their marketing, I don't know "why Glock".

None of the reasons put forth here would justify one in my book.

Ugly, offshore, overhyped, I don't care! They are simply caveman simple and go BANG every time I pull the trigger!!

Most Glock hate comes from observing couch operator types (won't say which forum) who see them as a mythic, perfectly reliable, infallibly designed, end-all to every gun-related question.

These are usually the people who own magical guns that have never malfunctioned under any circumstances, nor do they require any maintenance or cleaning--despite being cerakoted and adorned with every option in the Glockstore catalog and stippled by a chimp with a soldering gun and a can of Pabst.

Also, they don't seem to be aware that the "perfect" defensive weapon is a semiautomatic rifle.

Where do you get a good IWB holster for that "perfect defensive weapon", so you can carry one or two with you every waking moment?

Ill bet theres some magic involved there, and Id like to see how you pull it off.

It's not really ugly, but it's sure not pretty.

The good thing is, if you use it really hard, it still looks pretty much the same.

Grip angle and the 'comfort' of a handgun is a matter of training and familiarity. Sure, some firearms might give you something for free (ie they 'feel' better or 'point naturally'), but let's be honest with ourselves: marksmanship is a trainable, perishable skill which is independent of platform. You put the front sight in between the back sight, manipulate the trigger smoothly, and put a hole in the target. The weapon used doesn't care what you think about it, how you feel about it, if it is made in Austria or Germany or the US of A.

Also, 500 rounds through a firearm is just kicking the tires. That is a first date, without a kiss at the end of the night.

If you aren't interested in training through the immediate lack of comfort to learn to manipulate the most prolific handgun in the world, that's fine. Nobody is asking you to.

But it's a fool's errand to try and complain about what boils down to a subjective problem with an objective reality: 112 degrees isn't 'funky', it is 112 degrees. The grip is the grip, and it doesn't care if you like it, it is just where you hang on to the pistol. Train through it, or don't.

The grip argument is silly.
I don't think I have ever met a grip I didn't like. I can shoot 100rds through my G17, then pick up my Tokarev pistol, and it feels and points just as good...same with the Model 10.
As far as the comments about the G30....
I bought a G30 after reading the comments by Masoud Ayoub, who found it extremely accurate. Mine was all that and more. I could shoot the G30 as well as or better than a semi custom 1911 I had. 10" steel plates at 50yds were easy with the G30. Yes, it took a firm push to seat a full mag with a closed slide...so I pushed firmly.

That G30 was my re-entry to the Glock system, and though it is gone now, it led me to the G17 and the G26. Between the two of them, they do any thing I need a 9mm to do. None of these Glocks have given me a single issue...and I happen to think they look pretty good.

Nailed it, except I'll add shotgun or rifle.

This is getting boring. If you don't like it - don't use it.

If you think grip angle is the end all and be all of shooting skills - that's nice.

Close to a closure as we are starting to bicker.

A competent handgun user should be able to shoot most modern guns and obtain good hits. I grant you that hand size is an issue for some.

But if your hand fits a Glock (not an angle rant), Sig, 1911, etc. then you should be able to use it.
