Why does choosing a "black" gun cause some of us to stress?

I've had several ARs and several Minis. They all pretty much worked as i wanted them to. Don't have a Mini at the moment, but I have a nice one-MOA AR. I'll probably hang on to it. All the others? Somebody would show up who wanted one of them worse than I did, and hey, profit is profit.

I gave up stress for Lent, back around 1970, and never got it back. Don't believe in it. Bad for the stomach.

Nice rifle. Let us know how it shoots.

If I ever get a .308 semiauto, I wouldn't mind a SCAR 17. Just something about those things that attracts me.

Don't over think it. Remember the idea is to hit your target, not launch a space shot. It becomes a lot more fun when ya just load it up and fire away.

The above is commonly referred to as 'spray and pray' in these and many other parts.

Congrats on the new rifle, sirgilligan. Always feels nice to make a decision after pondering it. I was at my favorite gunshop today and handled the SCAR and the ACR. I liked the ACR a bit better, but both IMO are still pretty chunky for my tastes.

But, like I always say, that's why they build so many different rifles, so we can all find something we like.

Have fun, and post a range report when you get around to it.

I am not a huge fan of the tactical guns. That said I did like them when I was in high school (90s). I can see the draw to them and they are handy to have because there are so many modifications you can make to them very easily.

I don't personally know any own who stresses about a black gun. I do how ever know many people the prefer wood or laminate.

I do own an evil black Remington 870 with an 18 inch barrel and a folding stock and a mag extension on it but if I had to do it all over I would have gotten the Marine model in stainless. I just think stainless looks better.

My favorite guns now are mostly revolvers and lever actions but there is still a soft place in my heart for the Black guns.

Make me stop!
